$195 of Ruby Tuesday Gift Cards for $100 with Amex and Holiday Promo

The Offer

Amex is currently running an offer for in-store Ruby Tuesday purchases. Ruby Tuesday is also offering a Holiday gift card promo. The two combined can make for a really great deal.

  • Spend $30 or more with a registered Amex card at a Ruby Tuesday location and receive a $10 statement credit.

This offer is showing in all logins, I believe, but doesn’t have a Twitter hashtag. Offer in-store only.

  • Ruby Tuesday is offering a holiday promotion on the purchase of gift cards. For every $50 in gift cards purchases, receive a $15 bonus card. A $25 gift card will get a $5 bonus card. These offers are available both in-store and online.

Important: The $15 bonus card will be valid from 1/2/16 until 3/1/16. The $50 gift card won’t expire ever. Also, you can only use one promo code per visit. If you go with a group, you should hopefully be able to split the bill and have each person pay separately to be able to get the $15 off per person.

For a very detailed Q-&-A on this Ruby Tuesday offer, see here.

Our Verdict

The stacking here really makes for a great deal. Ruby Tuesday gift cards purchased in-store should trigger the Amex Offer credit, like any in-store purchase. As for the Ruby Tuesday holiday offer – the terms are clear that if you buy $100 in gift cards you’ll get $30 in bonus cards and $150 will get $45, etc.

If you are comfortable asking the cashier to split up $150 in gift cards onto 5 separate Amex cards at $30 each, you’ll end up paying just $100 for the gift cards and you’ll net $45 in bonus cards. That’s $195 for $100 – not too shabby!

You can even resell the gift cards for a small profit and use the bonus cards yourself – hack your meal! You can’t resell the promo cards, however, since they have an expiration date.

Also, if you are eating at a Ruby Tuesday location between now and 12/31/15, it makes sense not to pay for your meal directly; purchase a gift card first to trigger the bonus card (which you can use in January) and pay for your meal with the gift card.

Checked all 7 of my cards and all 6 of my wife’s. Not on any of them.

Had this on all four of my AMEX cards, so I went in to purchase a $120 gift card. The rep suggested I do $125 to get an extra $5 gift card bonus card which I did (this location was well aware of the Ruby Tiesday promo).

They had no problem doing split payments (I find restaurants are very used to doing this unlike many retailers) and I got the AMEX Offer emails almost immediately.

  My

Are you saying that you logged into Serve on your phone and you are given the option to remove offers? I logged in on my desktop and don’t see that option.

Not showing up on either Amex credit or Serve card. Possibly targeted by geographic area? (Nearest Ruby Tuesday is close to 200 miles away.)

That’s definitely not the reason as there is a Ruby Tuesday literally 2 miles from me.

It’s not showing on any of my 3 cards. Could it already be sold out?
