Our Verdict

There are two American Express offers currently available:

  • Get 1,000 Membership Rewards points by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $25 or more in-restaurant at Carrabba’s Italian Grill
  • Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $25 or more in-restaurant at Carrabba’s Italian Grill

You can use at least 4 cards per transaction. If you had this offer on two cards you’d pay $30 in for $50 in gift cards & 5 x $10 in bonus cards. You could resell the $50 in gift cards for 74% of face value ($7 profit) and get the five $10 bonus cards as well.

It should be noted this all needs to be done in restaurant. You can also only use one of the bonus cards per table per visit. This deal is really good and usually sells out quickly in restaurant, so if you’re interested I’d load up early.

This time they gave $10 Blue card which is valid from 05/15 to 07/01. Blue card cannot be used with any other coupon or promotion. Along with blue card, they also gave 4 – $10 coupon, 1 coupon valid for each month in Jul, Aug, Sep and Oct.

At my location, they had a queue of at least 5-8 people. People were keep coming. There was no limit on how many GC one can purchase. With this deal, they made sure that they get foot traffic every month to use $10 card/coupon. In the process people will spend more money at there restaurants.
By the time people use this card/coupon, they will again run same deal as holiday promotion in Nov/Dec time frame to get additional foot traffic for another 6 months.

Copied the language from their 2016 promotion that was also $50/(5X$10) Bonus cards:

Using the bonus cards can vary from one location to another, depending on the manager’s policy and attitude.
I had issues using X-mas Bonefish cards of similar nature at some Outbacks. However, local Carraba’s takes them 2 at a time, so it’s been my favorite place to redeem them up.

If these are good at Outback, there is an additional rewards where your OOP dollars can be added for points.

Olive Garden also states one bonus card per visit but they allowed me to use them all in one visit.
Wasnt the 1st time or 1st restaurant either.

This sounds like the deal from the holidays, $10 card good at any of the brands and then four $10 cards good at Carrabba’s, each valid for a different month. I just finished using the coupons the wife and I got from the Christmas special.

Any idea when these bonus cards expire? Are the bonus cards good at bonefish, etc too or only carrabas?

Wondering the same as well

The bonus cards are valid at all Bloomin’ Brands locations (outback, bonefish, carraba’s, fleming’s), except for certain special Carraba’s locations such as the original two in Houston.

The terms say “valid dates that vary”, but I suspect that they’ll just use the same bonus card stock that they gave me for the $10 bonus card per $50 GC sale a few weeks ago, which are valid 05/15/17 – 07/21/17.

Too bad I already used up all of my AOs on that sale :/ And I thought that was a decent deal already…if only I’d known!

Oh, and only one bonus card is allowed per visit per table (or at least that’s what’s written on the back of my bonus cards). I don’t see that mentioned anywhere in ‘The Fine Print’ on this post, but again I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up giving out the same bonus cards that I got.

So if you end up getting, say, a hundred of these, in order to spend the least OOP you’d probably have to eat there alone for every meal within the validity period 😉

Alternatively, you may be able to stack it with the actual gift cards you just bought and pay nothing OOP (besides the initial GC expenditure of course). Not sure if that’s allowed, but I don’t see why not.

Thanks Jay. I’d probably only go once maybe twice in that time period so these really aren’t worth much to me.

Are you sure the bonus cards are good at Bonefish? The small print on my email says “Valid at any Carrabba’s location in the United States. Not valid at Carrabba’s Franchise locations, Kirby or Woodway locations in Houston, TX or Tampa Airport location.”

No I’m not sure because I’m just going off what I see on the back of my bonus cards two weeks ago, which may or may not be the same. They may have switched to a different card stock just for this sale that’s only valid at Carraba’s (see Kneebiter’s and albrecht’s comments below).

At this point it’s hard to know anything for sure beforehand, unless someone asks a restaurant manager who knows about this sale. Might as well wait until the 14th to find out firsthand?
