Our Verdict

This offer seems to come out once a month and the promo code gets updated accordingly (just change the month in the promo code). It’s a targeted offer and will only work for some accounts. I don’t have success with these, but it’s easy enough to click the link and see if you’re targeted which is why we post these offers and many are having success with this one.

There’s also another offer going on currently to get a $5 credit with a $25 gift card purchase for Amazon student accounts.

Stack the Deal:

Pay with you Discover card or Freedom card for 5% back as per the Q4 category. Many of us will even get the 5% from Discover doubled at year’s end.
Go through the Giving Assistant shopping portal and hopefully get 5% cashback on the purchase as well. Gift cards aren’t guaranteed to earn portal cashback, but hopefully it will work anyway (worked for me).

I too used Chuck’s Giving Assistant earlier on, its good to reward bloggers who not only have deals but also integrity, meaning they won’t push an inferior deal for affiliated income without telling you there’s better deals. This blog surely has both good deals and integrity!

About this specific deal, I’m curious what’s the common thread for people who do vs don’t qualify for these targeted Amazon deals. I’ve only tried a few, including this one, told me I’m too good for it…j/k, said I don’t qualify.

ok, so I was targeted, went through the GA portal, bought $50 GC and applied the promo code which said successfully applied so all should be well, but I don’t see where I got a $10 promo code. No emails about it although I got a purchase confirmation email.

Same here, but the terms said up to 3 days to post so I’d wait until then, then I’ll probably contact amazon. Until then, I’d think the best way to check is to look into ‘My Account’ > ‘View Gift Card Balance’ to see if anything comes up.

As a follow up, it posted late on the 2nd day after I purchased the $50 e-gift card. I received an email that I had received it, and when I went to my Amazon cart, the extra $10 popped up under the $50 e gift card payment and automatically applied itself before the $50. I’m a little surprised it’s not more instant, but not complaining.
