Rite Aid: $8 Plenti with $1k Vanilla Purchase + $5 Off $15 with Amex, & More Gift Card Deals

The Offer

Direct Link (select ‘Plenti’ for all Plenti deals)

  • Buy two Vanilla Visa gift cards at Rite Aid with your Plenti card and get back 800 points, or $8.
  • Offer can be used a max of two times
  • Valid 1/24 – 1/30

If we’ll assume you’re buying $500 Vanilla Visa gift cards, then you’d buy $2,000 in cards (four cards) and get back $16.

You can do all four cards in one transaction and get the $16 Plenti. Buying one at a time – like some cashier make you do – might not work. I’m not sure.

Stack with Amex Offer

What is particularly nice about this offer is that Amex has a targeted offer going on to get $5 off $15 at Rite Aid. That significantly helps the math. You can split up the purchase between multiple Amex cards as well (at least 3) if the cashier allows it.

Other Deals

There are a whole bunch of other Plenti gift card deals going on at Rite Aid, these are also good for stacking with the Amex Offer.

  • 1,000 points with $50 Applebee’s gift card. Limit 2.
  • 1,000 points with $50 IHop gift card. Limit 2.
  • 500 points with $25 Gamestop gift card. Limit 2.
  • 500 points with $25 XBox gift card. Limit 2.
  • 500 points with $25 AMC gift card. Limit 2.
  • 500 points with $25 Subway gift card. Limit 2.
  • 500 points with $25 Red Robin gift card. Limit 2.
  • 500 points with $25 TJ Maxx gift card. Limit 2.

Our Verdict

Now is the time to use up those Amex Offers. You may even get lucky and find the Rite Aid offer on your Old Blue Cash card, for a three-way stack.

For what it’s worth, here’s a somewhat related trick I recently (accidentally) discovered. A few days ago, I bought a Vanilla Visa gift card from Walgreens. Then somehow, on the way to Walmart, I lost the card. So, with my Walgreens receipt in hand, I called Vanilla, who agreed to cancel the card and send me a new one at no additional charge. It arrived today, with MY NAME embossed on it! This tip might come in handy for those who experience cashiers who don’t accept “debit cards” with no name on them.

I tried to buy 2 VGCs at Rite Aid to help meet the minimum spending of my Barclarycard and I was declined. What gives?

More than likely it was a fraud alert to Barcalys. I make it a point to alert all CC companies when I get a new card from them befor emaking large purchases because it always triggers the fraud alerts

Plenti points not good for VGC, MGC, alcohol and not sure about merchants GCs.

You can split more than 3 CC but I don’t know the max (8?).

You can, but not at Walmart. But then again, you will be in Rite-Aid anyways 🙂 Just make sure to open the package somewhere in the back and not in front of the cashier before going back to load them to Serve, looks a little strange to use the gift cards a second after you bought them.

Oh, how I wish I still had Serve…

Thank you..
I don’t know if I am brave enough to buy two $500 cards for the fear that my Serve will get shut down before I have a chance to load them (already maxed out for this month).
Not sure this is worth is then.

How about Family dollar ? because my local RA does not allow me to use OVs.
If yes, does it cost me any fees for loading the OVs to blue serve ?
