The Fine Print

Avoiding Fees

The easiest account to keep fee free is the convenience checking account, you just need a minimum monthly balance of $100 to waive the $10 monthly fee.

Early Account Termination Fee

In their online fee schedule, there is no mention of an early account termination fee. Whereas on this help page they say there is an early account termination fee of $15 if you close the account within 90 days. That page does redirect to the Canadian site so that may be the difference. In any case, we’ll be cautious and say to keep the account for 90 days before closing.

Our Verdict

This promotion is incredibly stupid, they basically give you no information and refuse to give you any information until you sign up for the account. There is no such thing as a Samsung Galaxy phone, what actual phone do you get? Is it a Galaxy S3? That’s basically worthless. What plan do you need to sign up for? Don’t bother with this waste of time promotion.
