USAA Limitless 2.5% Now Also Available In HI, IL, NV, NY, RI and TX

USAA launched their Limitless credit card offering 2.5% cash back on purchases awhile ago in a pilot program, but they have been restricting what states can apply for the card. Looks like they have now added the following states:

  • HI, IL, NV, NY, RI and TX

This means that all of the following states are now eligible:

  • AL, AZ, CO, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MI, NM, NV, NY, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX and WA

PSA: Just received a call today from USAA compliance and was told going forward that MS/MO deposits will no longer be tolerated and they will shut down accounts if they feel this is what they are being used for. This is across the board for all USAA members. You might be getting a call soon. IMHO I feel the 2.5% Limitless Cash Card has something to do with this change of policy

Just contacted CS, and asked for a product conversion. However, the CSR stated that a conversion would change the terms and conditions of the product, therefore they are unable to convert it. FYI I tried to convert a USAA Cash Rewards to Limitless and I live in Texas.

Does USAA ever do sign up bonuses, does you know, or if it looks like I”m eligible for this, should I go ahead and apply? (I’m grandfathered in from when they let non-military sign up for bank accounts, but it is showing up with an ‘apply now’ option).

(Also not sure if I can/want to make the $1k DD work for me, though the application page says, “A qualifying direct deposit is a single electronic transfer of at least $1,000 that you initiate with your employer, a government entity or an external financial institution”, which is promising).

Thank you!

I’m not a real member, I got in through a glitch in their system and was able to a get approved for a CC which is my only relationship. I’ve heard of people calling in and getting eyes on their account and later losing it, so I’ve never called in for anything.

If I had an account I’d like to PC I would call but my two cards with them are prime+2.75%…before financial crisis in 2007 were prime+0% – not worth giving up.

Just read the full review where you mentioned this and Fidelity’s 2% card is a loss leader. Is the Citi Double Cash also a loss for Citi? I don’t have a bank account with them so I’m not sure how they’re making money off me.
