The minimum gift card possible to buy on Amazon.com is now $1, up from the previous minimum of $.50. You can still reload your Amazon gift card balance with just $.50.
Small Amazon loads are a useful way of meeting minimum spend thresholds on bank accounts or credit cards that require a certain number of transactions. Many banks require transactions to keep the account fee-free, and the Everyday Preferred card from Amex requires 30 transactions in order to be eligible for the 50% bonus the card offers.
There’s a good chance that the reloads will change eventually too. For now, just shift over from gift cards to reloads if you haven’t already.

It's only allowing me to reload in increments of $1.00 now. 50 cents seems to go through but I never get a confirmation email and it never shows up.
Any recent DPs on $0.50 Amazon reloads dead for counting towards Amex Everyday transactions? I just did 5 reloads 2 days ago, already posted but my Amex transaction tracker didn't count them. Says I have 16 transactions posted when I have 21 posted on my current statement. It's possible that it's because they just posted this morning, but usually they appear for me right away on the tracker. Will update when my statement closes, but it seems very suspicious to me.
It was behaving like that for me last month, but after few days, it reverted to correct count and 20% bonus applied. Hopefully that is the case here.

False alarm, I just got an email this morning that I got my 20% bonus for making 20 purchases. Very weird, but I guess there's some delay or bugs. The weird thing is that on the 20% tracker it went from "pending" to just missing. I didn't even get to see it post because I got the email this morning when my statement closed last night. I was worried that RAT might be onto something...

im tempted to open 3 bank accounts to earn more %, but in total, would need to make like 40 $.50 transactions via amazon per month...

I don't believe balance reloads on Amazon qualifies for the Amex Everday transaction counts based on personal experiment. Can you please elaborate your source?
