We’re reposting this deal as you can now purchase two gift cards instead of just one. If you’ve already purchased one, you’ll be able to purchase one more. Thanks to Miles to Memories for letting us know.
The Offer
- Purchase a $100 eBay gift card for $95 from PayPal Digital Gifts (this is an eGiftcard)
The Fine Print
- You can only purchase one gift card per account
- Limited quantity available
Our Verdict
You won’t be able to earn eBay bucks on this purchase, but you might be able to get portal cash back (even though most portals will specifically state that it won’t work) Topcashback has the best rate at 1.5% cash back, but some people have reported better success using eBates at 1% cash back. If you use a Chase Ink card, you should earn 5x Chase UR points on this purchase.
If we stack these you’d pay $95, receive 475 Chase UR points and possibly up to $1.425 from the shopping portal. eBay gift cards are great because they can be used to purchase other discounted gift cards on eBay that we can use for reselling (e.g the recent Exxon deal). There have been enough of these recently that I always purchase discounted eBay gift cards, worst case scenario I’ll use them myself.

I recently got the Everyday Preferred card. If I were to buy merchant gift cards at a grocery store and get 4.5% back, can I log in through a portal, use the gift card online, and stack points/cash back?
Yes, that should work.
has anyone else receive the following error/warning when trying to check out?
"Return to merchant and try a different payment method"
I can't seem to purchase it
I have the same issue! No idea why!!
I am getting the same as well. I just added a new CC to my Paypal account. Did you guys do the same?
I have had the same problem. I can't use my PayPal to purchase from paypal_digital_gifts, but I can use paypal at other eBay stores and outside of eBay. Paypal insists there is not a security block, and that my account is fine.
I think it is because I purchased an ebay GC with another eBay GC about a week ago. That's when it started.
You all need to call paypal. They have a security freeze and will ask you questions about why you're purchasing these etc. Once you answer those questions and hang up, it will take about 15-20 mins and then you'll be able to go use the original payment form you were using.
This happened multiple times to me and I wanted to purchase GC's.
I called and they took care of it like Joe said. They assured me it's not a big deal but also they said it will happens again and the only way to fix it is to call them. It seems it's just an annoying security measure and nothing more!
I ran into this issue when the offer was first posted and was able to resolve the issue by calling PayPal. I ran into the issue again last night when I tried to buy a second card, but when I called this morning the item sold out before I could make any progress with the CSR. Is there any way to avoid calling PayPal each time a purchase is made with PayPal Digital Gifts?
Not sure what is causing the issue to be honest, maybe ask when you call in to get it lifted again?
Thanks for the heads up, in for one
hold up, Ink+ purchases get 5x on eBay? all this time I thought 5x only applied to OSS (online or in-store)
any cards that get 5x at AMZN and other popular online stores?
Barclaycard Sallie Mae gets 5x at Amazon, some merchants on Amazon don't code correctly but just buy Amazon giftcards instead.
I got that warning email discussed in the last eBay deal for purchasing gas cards for myself and then my wife. Do they really intend to limit deals to one per household (I.e. Just let it go and only purchase for one or the other from now on) or is there any value in contacting eBay in an attempt to continue to be able to purchase the max number of deals per person? Any way around this limit In the first place?
