Just thought I’d let you know that our poll for which charity to donate to is officially closed. Here are the results:
- Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres): 16 votes
- Children’s Organ Transplant Association: 20 votes
- Globus Relief: 7 votes
- Charity: Water: 12 votes
- Aga Khan Foundation: 3 votes
- Common Hope: 0 votes
I decided to split our $1,200 donation between the two most voted for charities, Doctors Without Borders & Children’s Organ Transplant Association with the latter getting $700 and the former getting $500. I was going to donate a cut to Charity: Water, but we’ve donated $400 to them in the past so I thought it was best to only split the donation between the two charities with the most votes.
This site makes a surprising amount of money, especially considering that we don’t run credit card affiliate links. It’s nice to be able to give back to charities on behalf of the community that we’re building here at Doctor of Credit. I’m a big believer that you’re able to provide unbiased information, give back to the community and still make a profit and this site is proving this.
Going forward we will be holding a poll once per quarter to decide where our donations should go. This will be much easier to manage (and also way less posts about it) and hopefully people will interact with our donation posts when there is more money at stake.
Here is a list of our other donations to date:
- April 2014: $125 to EFF
- May 2014: $210 to WWF
- June 2014: $325 to Heifer International
- July 2014: $325 to Oxfam Unwrapped
- August 2014: $400 to Charity: water
In total we’ve now donated $2,585. I’d like to break $10,000 next year, so make sure you share this site on social networks, post links on the forums and continue to help me build this site up. Merry Christmas to everybody as well!

Super cool!
Whoa! Good stuff! I've been trying to find a "donate via Paypal" or something like this for my favorite blog but either I'm too stupid, not looking hard enough or it doesn't exist. Pleeeaaaseee help me out, Will ya :-)
No need to donate this site, we're doing more than OK for ourselves. Just spread the site around so more people know about it. P.S thanks for the design suggestions!
