Our Verdict
The Freedom Unlimited bonus is the standard online offer (though some can do better by using a referral link which gives your friend a bonus or by going in branch for an extra $50). The checking offer is lower than the top offers we’ve seen, such as this checking/savings $600 combo offer.
The current $525 offer makes sense for someone who is planning on signing up for the Freedom Unlimited card with the standard online bonus and who isn’t interested in doing Chase savings account offers. In that case, this bonus actually gives you a bit better than typically possible. We also haven’t seen any of the big Chase checking/savings bonuses lately.

Can I open a checking online and apply for the CFU credit card in branch and still get the extra $100?
Is this offer automatically applied to my account? I have just opened a checking account at a branch 3 days ago and now I find this offer. If I open a ultimate credit card right now, does this offer automatically apply to me?
P2 just opened the freedom card a month ago. is it likely he can open the checking and get the entire bonus?
I closed my Chase checking in February. Can I still get this bonus? Thanks.
When did you open that account? Most Chase Checking offers have this statement "You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last enrollment date".
This seems like good offer. Never churned Chase, but a little scared cause I heard they are addicted to closing accounts. Hate to bother and not get offer
My wife and I got two bonuses with Chase Checking in 2019 and two more last months. They paid the bonuses very soon after you met all the requirements. They're a bit skittish about fund transfers initiated from your Chase account and sometimes cancel them. I've always pushed money into Chase and pulled money out of Chase using an external account. Had no problems at all.
What about flex
I literally applied for a CFU last week. :(
I already have a Chase Checking account, how to get any more bonuses from Chase using the Bank account route?
close it
Meanwhile, looks like any bonus for opening a CHASE Savings account and maintaining a15K bonus for 3 months has slipped thru the cracks. I’m eligible to open Checking again and was waiting for the tandem bonus deal with savings but it’s not in the cards. Opportunity cost of those funds sitting at the CHASE Savings negligible rate wouldn't be much nowadays.
Upvoted for the truth about opportunity cost! Need this money to do something!
I just churned Chase checking account for $225 bonus.. Wish I had waited..
