Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
There are no monthly fees or minimums on this account. Keep in mind you need to receive a monthly direct deposit or use online bill pay to make one bill payment per month otherwise your account can be downgraded.
Early Account Termination Fee
According to this comment there is also no early account termination fee.
Our Verdict
We’ve seen bonuses of $150-$250 before. It’s a shame this is likely a targeted promotion, otherwise I would add it to our list of the best checking bonuses. If anybody decides to sign up, then please share your experiences in the comments and let us know if it’s actually targeted or not.

Looks like you don’t have to do an automatic bill pay if you’re doing the monthly direct deposit ACH for the bonus to maintain “Maximum Checking Account”.
(3) $100 minimum opening deposit required. Basic requirements to maintain Maximum Checking: you must receive a monthly recurring ACH direct deposit OR
use Bill Pay to make at least ONE monthly bill payment that posts before month end.
Thanks for that one
This seems like a very odd targeted bonus. Who are they targeting if non-members and existing checking holders are excluded? Business account holders and people who have savings products only with them? I can’t imagine too many people have just a savings account with them as their rates aren’t anything spectacular. I was excited to see this bonus until I read who is targeted.
I wouldn’t mind being the DP if someone can tell us if it’s soft or hard pull
(E.g. being the DP for a non-customer trying to get the bonus)
Soft. Did this one before.
