The Offer
- American Express currently has two offers that show up when doing a dummy booking on Delta. The offers are as follows:
- Delta Gold – Earn A $300 Statement Credit And 40,000 Bonus Miles
- Delta Platinum – Earn A $400 Statement Credit And 60,000 Bonus Miles
Our Verdict
We have seen better gold offers in the past. Platinum has been as high as 90,000 miles in the past, so this could be a good deal for those that don’t value Delta miles highly.
Hat tip to reader David
Booked flight and signed up for platinum offer. Met the SUB and then was denied bonus. I never got the pop-up saying I was not eligible.
What was the reason you were ineligible? Have you already had the card in the past?
I did a booking and went for the platinum offer, met the SUB amount and was denied the points….never got the “not available “ pop up.
Never the platinum card before, they said because of previous card actions I was not eligible! Duh
If I have had the gold in the past, can I still apply for the platinum, are they considered seperate at Amex, or are they considered the same? Not sure about Amex. Thank you
Separate.
I applied for Delta gold by dummy booking this Feb, it was 400+50k, lifetime one, need lots of refreshing and incog to got, i suggest some waiting on this
I assume these have the lifetime language restrictions?
How the statement credit works? Only applies to DL booking or any spend is eligible?
When I searched awards 2 days ago I saw these offers popped up but I did not bother to check the T&Cs. My guess is, unless you get a targeted offer from AMEX, all public offers have the languages.
