VOTE24 is the usual promotion, valid for half off a ride from 5 am to 10 pm on November 5, bike share, scooter, or ride. https://www.lyft.com/blog/posts/where-are-we-going-on-november-5th-lyft-offers-discounted-rideshare

* 50% off (up to $10) a Lyft car, bike or scooter ride to a polling location on 11/5/2024. Limit 1 per user, while supplies last. Offer is not intended to induce, nor is it conditioned on, the act of voting, or voting for or against any particular person or measure.

LMAO. Why didn’t they wait until Election Day?

VOTE24 still works for 50% off up to $10. Not the same as free though.

> Eric, to help voters get to the polls, we’re providing access to discounted rides. Save 50% on your ride with code VOTE24 (up to $10). Add your promo code now. It’ll be ready when you ride on November 5.

Says “codes used up”…Lyft is too poor to honor a ton of any promo anymore

I’d say it was more likely that people used the codes in ways it was not intended.

pretty braindead promotion, code usage wasn’t even restricted to polling locations?

somebody just burned a whole bunch of money and did exactly 0 good.

Well it would be a violation of election law to actually provide it on the condition you vote. So they cannot restrict it to polling places. Stupid promo really.

I would like to think that the offer was used for the purpose intended and that some truly poor old lady was not stiffed out of a ride because of a thoughtless and self-centered hobbyist.

This promo dropped on a Friday night during the academic year. 99% of redemptions were from campus to the city to pick up a MILF. Those old ladies got stiffed all right.

The idea some old lady saw this Lyft promo and knew how to use Lyft yet couldn’t think of another way to get herself to a nearby polling station is utterly laughable

High time we all have an online voting option. If they can do it for military and overseas citizens, they can do it for all.

If only it was that easy…while federal law requires that citizens abroad be able to register and receive ballots online, most of us voting from abroad still have to return our ballots by mail, or at best by fax. very few states allow online ballot return.
