Our Verdict
No real way to maximize this offer, it just might be useful for those who pay for a regular WSJ subscription.

WSJ wine excluded 🙁

I was tempted by this offer. It’s essentially a year of digital WSJ for about ten bucks a month. Not bad if you don’t want to play the sign-up/cancel game. I also couldn’t figure a way to further optimize the offer. And a Black Friday sale would probably just cause the price to fall below the qualifying threshold. Anyone else have thoughts on a better approach to digital WSJ?
How are you able to make a single transaction for that amount? Every subscription offer I’ve found involves monthly payments.
I took advantage of the offer (actually was able to cancel my current subscription and sign up for this one which was a better deal). In order to hit the threshold, if you go through the website listed (wsj.com/amex) it will bill for the entire year at $187, which then triggers the rebate.
Derp. I just had to click the Redeem Now link in the offer itself.
Student edition is $120. There’s no verification you’re a student and no limit on how long you can have a student subscription. Not that I’m condoning it.
Saw this offer last week. Bought the 12 month subscription for $221 on 10/30 and the credit posted on 11/1
