A Complete List Of Previous & Current Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Transfer Bonuses

Yesterday we saw Chase launch the first ever transfer bonus, offering an additional 30% when transferring to Avios. Hopefully this is the first of many and because of this we will use this dedicated page to compile a list of all current and past transfer bonuses. It’s useful to have a frame of reference to determine how good a transfer bonus is and if it’s likely that another offer will be offered in the future or not. This is something we do for both American Express & Citi transfer bonuses as well. I also realize this is ridiculous considering there has only ever been one transfer bonus, but this will help us keep it organized going forward.

  • Does anyone know how long does it take for AMEX or Chase UR to transfer to Virgin and AirFrance Blue?

  • A 100% bonus to Marriott would put it on par with other transfer partners without a bonus.

  • If they ever offer a 33% bonus for Hyatt or Jet Blue that would make the freedom unlimited a 2x UR card for Hyatt/Jet Blue on everything spent. Definitely the best everyday card. Oh I forgot that first they have to offer a 33% bonus 😉

    • Makes more sense to book Jet Blue on the portal if you hold a Sapphire Reserve, doesn't it?

  • This is a useful resource, at least I hope it becomes one in the future if/when UR transfer bonuses to different programs actually becomes a thing.

One suggestion, and then something that I wonder about...

Suggestion: Along with the list of promotions, it would be great to also list typical transfer times (some are instant, others appear to take an infinite amount of time), and also when points transferred to that program would expire. I don't have any use for Avios today, so I'm reluctant to transfer any URs there (IIRC, Avios expire in 36 months, right?).

What I wonder about is...what's Chase's motivation in offering a transfer bonus? Are they alarmed about a tremendous accumulation of URs in many peoples' accounts? (I've been doing my part to contribute to that...)

    • I second the transfer time idea.

Additionally I suspect they're trying to maintain a competitive edge against MR, especially given the recent Marriott, Hyatt, and United devals which are all UR transfer partners.

  • I see a Hyatt bonus possibly breaking this promo in the future if it were to happen. This could lead to a domino effect where Hyatt may devalue due to so many rewards being redeemed... just a thought.

    • It's not like Hyatt doesn't get paid on the transfer. Though I would like to know what that cpp is.

  • Avios are absolutely amazing if you have travel planned in Asia or Europe.
It usually costs me 7.5k avios each way from ME to Asia, OW.
Cash price for the same ticket goes as high as $250 OW.

  • Took advantage of AMEX 40% transfer bonus last year, might transfer some UR points with this promo too.
