Update 4/22/21: I finally got the other $50 myself, and others have reported the same. It’s likely that the issue is now on their radar, and hopefully anyone still out of luck will be able to now get resolution since we brought this to their attention (see below).
Update 4/13/21: We reached out to Swagbucks about this issue. They did review some accounts and credit them the full amount or the remaining amount owed. So if you got the remainder of what was owed hit your Swagbucks accounts yesterday, you’re welcome 🙂 . (I believe they reviewed the accounts who signed up using our referral links and were thus linked to the site.) I’m sure there are still others who are eligible and have not received full credit (strangely enough, I’m still in that boat myself), nothing more I can really do, but I’m glad we were able to get at least some readers their credit. Perhaps now that it’s on their radar they’ll be more amenable to give others credit they deserve as well.
Original Post:
Lots of us signed up for the annual Walmart+ subscription ($98) utilizing the $100 Swagbucks offer which would make it essentially free. Added to that are/were a number of stacks which were able to turn it into a real moneymaker.
Since that time, the Swagbucks offer changed to being typically $50, though sometimes we’ve seen it at $75 and currently it’s at just $5.
Unfortunately, the initial batch of Swagbucks sign ups with the $100 offer did not track automatically and required us to manually request credit from Swagbucks. I believe most subsequent signups under the $50 or $75 offers and some of the later $100 signups did track automatically, but that initial batch of $100 signups did not get any Swagbucks credit automatically.
When affected users file a support claim with Swagbucks, their customer service team typically does credit the user for the Walmart+ signup at the lower $50 amount, not the full $100.
Some readers had success getting the remaining $50 after repeated requests from support, whereas others had no such luck. Personally, I’m in the latter category with the many support requests (both follow-ups and new requests) just yielding a scripted reply from Swagbucks. Even documented screenshots showing my eligibility are to no avail, just getting bland replies from the support team who does not seem to have even read the details of my claim.
Walmart+ Vs. Amazon Prime
While I’ve struck out in getting the remaining $50 to credit, I am finding Walmart+ incredibly useful for online orders. My non-scientific comparison finds Walmart.com to be cheaper than Amazon on many low cost household items.
Amazon seems to have baked a shipping fee into the cost of low-cost items without calling it that; it’s understandable, but the ‘free shipping’ cost doesn’t actually reflect a typical competitive price in a store like Walmart or Target in the case of low-cost items. Conversely, Walmart.com pricing seems to be more similar to what you’d find in a budget store (maybe a bit higher than Walmart stores, but somewhat comparable), and you’re actually getting a “free” shipping service without the shipping cost baked into the price.
Currently, when making a purchase I’ll typically compare Walmart vs Amazon, and find myself completing the purchase at Walmart more often than Amazon. The free shipping benefit of Walmart+ is becoming as useful to me as that of Amazon Prime. (Prime does have numerous others perks as well, such as Prime Video, which many find useful.)
While the Walmart+ purchase was mainly done due to the deal, I’ll have a real decision to make at year’s end…

I read this post of yours but was not using Walmart+ too much as I'm a secret smoker and going to store gives me a chance to have a puff.. Lately I did started to use my subscription out of laziness and find it extremely useful and competitive.. Amazon is good for niche items but for regular items which Walmart also carry, Walmart is best.. Lot of times they fulfill my order from local store and I get my item in 12 hours
It is 11,000 SB now. Hopefully it tracks properly
Wow, posted, thanks https://www.doctorofcredit.com/swagbucks-get-50-back-on-walmart-98-membership-fee/
@will I saw this in my inbox this morning as well, shows up in swagbucks as "up to 110" when I search for walmart+.
I'm wanting to try this through MyPoints for the 17,500 points. It says trial memberships aren't eligible, but I don't see a way to purchase membership without first doing the trial. I assume when my credit card is charged on May 4th, it will still track through MyPoints to get the points?
First sign up for the membership and then login and cancel.
Then click the MyPoints link and sign in and sign up and the membership fee will hit.
I did it that way and I’m awaiting if it will pend. If not I took screenshots and have the email.
If you click the dosh link on you phone and let it sit and then login once you signed up you will earn the 9.8 thru them. That did work and went pending, even though I actually signed up in my pc not phone.
I see 17,500 pts for Walmart plus thru MyPoints. I may do this. How much does that equal for cash redemption. $100?
PayPal is 158 MP per dollar ($110.76) but I only do Visa gift cards at 150 MP per dollar ($116.67). Then you can add Dosh at 10% ($9.80)
I think there’s a chase offer to. So MyPoints Chase 10% and Dosh. Little money maker.
Both Dosh Chase and MyPoints 17.5K bonuses paid out.
Roughly $50 money maker once cashed out. Had to submit a ticket. I didn’t see it pend.
I’m glad this paid out BC my GoodRX didn’t. I seem to have good luck with MyPoints but not swagbucks for some reason.
I vote we remove swabucks deals from this site, after some time they might realize a huge source of referrals came from this site and they will be a bit more honest about honoring their offers
Posts like this is why I wish we had downvotes here.
Is there any way to get help if they say it didn't track? They gave me 500 swagbucks for walmart first purchase but none of the 10,000 for the subscription. I've already submitted 3-4 tickets with either a response:
1. it did not track, don't use third party software (though using same computer and same browser they were able to track small transactions
2. they say they gave me 500 swagbucks and close the ticket.
Swag bucks has been such a hassle last few times I tried I don't care if they were to give me $200 to sign up for Walmart.
Seems like a lot to go through when they offer free shipping w/ a low min. anyway.
Personally I find it incredibly useful not to have wait until I have $35 threshold.
Was pleasantly surprised to see the missing 5000 SB credited to my account. Thank you DoC!
I opened a ticket a few days ago and haven’t heard back yet, but thanks for reaching out to them and hopefully getting this on their radar!
