The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Guardian Credit Union is offering the ultimate checking account, this earns 4.07% APY on balances up to $30,000 when the following requirements are met:
    • Make at least 15 debit card transactions
    • Set up a minimum monthly payroll direct deposit of at least $500

The Fine Print

  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

If requirements for the increased APY are not met a $10 monthly fee applies.

Our Verdict

Fairly simple requirements to meet and nice large maximum deposit amount, worth considering if you live in one of the eligible counties. We still need to know if it’s a hard or soft pull to open. This will be added to the list of the best high yield checking accounts.

  • @will Negative changes :( Starting 4/1/22, 25 swipes and $500+ debit card spend req'd. DD no longer needed. Source: Got a letter, however, their website is also updated to reflect the new rules.

Very sad, was a great account; easy $1200 per year. Don't ever see myself putting $500/mo on debit.

    • Hey KV I have a question to ask you about the account, could you shoot me an email? meowshark at hotmail dot com

    • You could try sending $500 between venmo using the debit card, I dont think there is a fee.

  • They allow out of state applicates if you have a family member as a member already. Any Alabamers want to refer me?
