Ally Launches Three Credit Cards (Invite Only)

Ally has launched three credit cards:

The fact there is no sign up bonus on any of the cards makes them dead on arrival.

  • It's your time to shine! You've been pre-approved for the Ally Everyday Cash Back Mastercard, with unlimited cash back and no annual fee. And to show some love for your loyalty, you can also take advantage of a 10% relationship bonus. Did we mention you could score a $200 cash bonus too? Check it out.

Can anyone confirm if this is a spam email?

    • Thanks for taking the time to respond to our offer. We can’t approve you for a credit card right now. You can expect a letter in the mail from us outlining the factors that went into our decision.

  • I got the invite, applied and got instant approved last month.

While reviewing Chex I see they made a Chex inquiry.
Chex pull for credit card - is this normal ?

They also pulled TU which I am fine with. I have Ally Bank customer for years.

Can I dispute the Chex pull via Chex online? Any dp around this wil be extremely helpful as I have never done it before.

    • What is your reasoning for disputing it? Ally did a Chex pull when I opened this card also. I asked others if they had experienced the same and I believe that it was Ostrich Rider that told me that it happened to them also for a different credit card. I don't remember the post where this discussion occurred though.

  • So far no invite, I'm thinking Ally wants you to open other types of accounts like savings, CD, etc to have a higher chance at getting an invite.

  • I received an email from Ally for the Everyday Cash Back Mastercard with a $200 bonus.

Subject: "Act now to get your $200 cash bonus when you open a new credit card from Ally and spend $500."

    • I got this email recently too. In addition to the $200 bonus, it also comes with 0% for 15 months.

      • @guest_1842714,

I received this offer back in January.

FYI, I am still waiting for my bonus to post so they either take their sweet time to apply the bonus (they have until the end of this month per the terms) or something went wrong with my offer.

        • @guest_1842719 Would you willing to share what credit limit you got? If I go for this, I'll probably max it out via plastiq so I can use the funds for larger bank bonuses. I wish I had the option for the 2% card, thinking that if my credit line is $20k, that's an extra $200 in rewards.

  • > The fact there is no sign up bonus on any of the cards makes them dead on arrival.

Indeed. Could have added some extra incentive for customers who have a savings or brokerage account?

  • Missed opportunity here with the lack of benefits. Hard to recommend over DoubleCash on the redemption side (as you can pair with another card to increase potential value) or Fidelity (slightly more benefits).

An Extended Warranty benefit would have made the 2% card more interesting. As of now, better options already out there.

  • 3% cash back for gas/grocery/drugstores is ok. But it doesn't have a SUB and there are other cards which can do this.

    - American Heritage Credit Union Cash Reward Mastercard
    - AMEX BCP or BCE
    - Andrews FCU Titanium Rewards
    - Bank of America with Platinum Honors
    - Bank of the West Cash Back World
    - Chase Freedom Unlimited/Flex combined with one of the several 4-5% gas cards
    - Navy Federal More Rewards
    - NIH Federal Credit Union Cash Rewards
    - UMB Simply Rewards
    - Walgreens Mastercard

Ally needs to have good benefits and zero FTF. Some way to stand apart.
