Amazon: 10% Cash Back through Prime Day with Amazon Store Card [Targeted]

The Offer

There are two versions of the Amazon credit card: one is a Visa card issued by Chase, which can be used anywhere and earns 3% cash back at Amazon. The other is an Amazon store card issued by Synchrony, which can only be used on Amazon and earns 5% back.

Amazon is now sending out the following offer via email to some Amazon Store cardholders:

  • Get an extra 5% back on all Amazon purchases through Prime Day, July 12; that’s on top of the usual 5% back

Our Verdict

10% back on Amazon is excellent, and you can even stock up on Amazon gift cards or reloads for future use.

This offer is only being sent out to Amazon Store cardholders, not Amazon Visa cardholders. Amazon Visa cardholders got a different offer of $30 off $150. That offer gets you 20% off the $150 purchase, while the Store Card offer gets you 10% off unlimited purchases and it should work on anything, even gift cards.

If you don’t have the Amazon credit card, Discover is a good option now due to the 5% back quarterly category.

  • Does anyone know if the store card is a hard pull and can we begin to use it immediately?

    • Like mentioned above, it's targeted so simply applying won't guarantee you the offer. I've had it for a few months and did not receive any e-mail regarding the promo.
