  • iHop has extra $10 when buying $30 gift card in their app.
Is a better deal than the Amazon one!

  • Lyft deal is great if the cards actually worked- second time I’ve bought one through Amazon and Lyft wouldn’t recognize the gift card number/pin as valid when I try to add it to my balance in-app.

  • Can the Hulu Disney and Max offers be paid for at the Black Friday price through either Google Play or Apple?

  • I was targeted for the $10 off $75 Discover promo. It stacked when I purchased a Doordash Gc. Merry Christmas!!

    • I combined that with an Amazon offer for using $0.01 in reward dollars on my BCE to get another $10 off. So for me it was $70 for $100. Yeah, a steal!

    • Not sure because it doesn't let you choose which payment like Uber does. Nullifying other existing promotions like the World Mastercard 3x rides for $5. Lyft illegally considers gift cards as a promo rather than as a payment.

      • You can book the ride with a normal payment method, then enable lyft cash after you start the ride: I've done this every time since I haven't verified my identity and it glitches whenever I try to use lyft cash as my only payment method.

        • Forgive me but I'm not sure I understand how to avoid using a gift card balance in the Lyft app and choose a Mastercard payment instead? It forces the gift card balance at all costs before letting you apply a credit card payment. I loathe this forceful, illegal option.

      • You’re getting yes and no back and forth but the real answer is it’s regional, typically. Barring a cheap as shit gift card, you should have both.

      • In my experience they have been higher than Uber but it varies.
They both use some kind of algorithm which raises the price if you use one of them consistently. There have been some instances where the ride prices are higher if you use gift cards especially with Lyft.
It's always a good idea to shop around. I have both apps installed and I check both prices on the apps before deciding.

        • Can confirm. I've stopped buying Lyft credit because I see consistently 15-20% higher pricing with Lyft Cash in my account, when I compare it with others' fare quotes for the same ride at the same time -- even after my supposed Lyft Pink + DashPlus discounts.

I've also had several issues recently with Lyft auto-applying a worse promo than the one I originally chose and then claiming only one promo can apply to a ride, and them not honoring their on-time pickup "guarantee" for pre-scheduled airport rides.
