  • I'm trying to trade in my old tablet for a new tablet and i'm not seeing the 20% discount at checkout. Do they credit after they get old tablet or do i send in and make purchase after they send me a code??

      • The shortest answer ,, i talked to CS and they said that i had to send in the tablet and then i would get credit promo code when i bought the next tablet. So no tablet for maybe a week.
Since i bought a tablet 15 minutes before chatting with them online , they gave me a courtesy credit equal to the 20% of my tablet purchase ($15) on my next purchase on amazon. I just cancelled the purchase on the first tablet and bought another to get that credit

  • If you have the amex 50% off or the chase $60 off you can get this for free (with amex) or for $15 (with chase)

  • Not bad if you side load Google play store on it. They are good basic media consumption devices.

    • I use it to read PDFs and eBooks, and I can play videos on it via MX Player or the Netflix app. If that is your need, then it will serve you well. If you are looking for a full-fledged tablet, akin to a laptop without a keyboard, you will find it underpowered as Ben said.

    • I have a 2020 Fire 8 Plus. I use it as a dedicated camera streamer which it works ok for that. It is quite slow if you are multitasking and flipping around to different apps and stuff.

      • OK, but this is for the HD10, which has a totally different processor than your Fire 8.

    • They are terrible tablets for anything in my experience. Every few years I fall for one of these sales and always regret it. The key problem is that they are simply under powered so they are slow and unresponsive.

      • The different Amazon models, despite sharing similar names, have very different guts. I have the 2020 or 2021 (don't remember which) 10" tablets and they are actually very fast. The processors used vary widely depending on the specific model and vintage. The HD8 of the same year had literally half the CPU performance of the 10" model.
