Amazon sometimes offer Prime members a ‘no rush shipping’ offer – an incentive to allow for slower shipping speeds. We’ve typically always seen a $1 digital credit as the reward. Lately I’ve been noticing getting a consistent offer to receive 6% back on the Amazon Prime credit card as my no-rush shipping reward. That’s an extra 1% back, and could amount to a decent cash reward on larger purchases.
As an Amazon Prime 5% card cardholder, I mentally think of Amazon gift cards as being worth 5% less than face value. Going forward, I’ll adjust that to 5%-6% since no-rush shipping is often fine for me.

This is a great deal when you are purchasing a daily deal for a buying group and Amazon cancels the order three days later because the item is now out of stock.

YMMV but I selected this offer on an item shipped [and sold] by amazon on 12/10. I only received 5% per the rewards page. I spoke with chat on 12/23 about this issue. The first associate wasn't aware of this promotion. I was bounced to a second chat associate on the "Amazon Payment Support Team" who instead issued a gift card well beyond the worth of the missing 1%. Nice. But just make sure you actually receive the additional 1% or be prepared to inquire about it.

I preferred the digital credits a lot more. $2.25 credits on a $50 amazon day delivery order was pretty common for me and the credits are easy to use on movie rentals. Of course streaming movies online is easy but I liked the consistent quality + subtitle availability.
Lmao it's not like they ship anything on time anymore, let alone honor the 2 day prime shipping.
Yeah that, combined with the price hike for ad-free Prime Video is why we're not renewing our Prime membership. The cash back isn't worth my crazy-high annual fee.
In my experience, these shipments are more delayed than advertised. An additional 1% is certainly more valuable than a $1 virtual credit that I couldn't spend on anything I wanted. I've tried it a few times, but the frustration is not worth it for me.
I liked the digital credits much better since I typically purchase items in the $10-$50 range. Ten to fifty cents isn't enough to give up the two-day shipping I paid for.
What do you use the credits for? I stopped getting them because they kept expiring as there was nothing worth getting.

I have noticed this as well. I am loving the 6% back on Amazon I am sure just with the extra 1% I have probably earned back my Prime Membership.
You’ve spent more than $13,000 on Amazon using the no rush shipping option to take advantage of the extra 1% cash back? Wow. That’s A LOT. I kind of feel like the 6% thing is super sneaky by Amazon to make people think they are getting a lot extra but in reality it is typically going to be $0.10 to $0.50 extra cash back is imho not worth it in most cases to wait way longer for delivery.
I feel like choosing this option is saving Amazon A LOT more money and they are only sharing a tiny fraction of the savings

You're absolutely right. This is a very smart move on Amazon's part. That said if you don't actually need the item right away, I see absolutely no reason not to save a little bit. I often use it for gifts or items I'm buying well in advance. Obviously not for items I need asap.
I much prefer the no shipping credit. In order to force that though, I have to have a different card from my Prime card as my default. Of course, I don't want to keep Citi, Chase or Discover on there to be eligible for occasional coupons so I put a VGC card on my account, drained the small balance to my account and leave as default.
They want to credit me an extra $0.21 for an order to arrive on 12/30 instead of 12/22. Lol
Honestly, 90% of the time that I choose no rush it ends up arriving early. Obviously this can vary with holidays.
