Amazon Prime Now Includes NFL Thursday Night Football

Amazon purchased the exclusive rights to stream NFL Thursday Night Football on their Prime Video. It’s a free benefit now included in Amazon Prime or Prime Video membership (affiliate links in this post). You can even set it up to record for later viewing.

The streaming pick up was announced a while back and went live tonight for the first time. (Last week’s Thursday Night game was not included, but week 2 through week 17 in included.) You can access the full schedule and links to Thursday Night NFL games on Amazon Prime here.

  • Who cares about NFL? Just more money pouring into corrupt old world establishments. Expect another Prime increase soon.

We're coming full circle — cutting the cord to get rid of the bundled services, only to get back to the bundled services online.

      • Rick, I don't know of anyone who does. I can't think of an activity more boring than watching sports. I'd happily go out of my way to ensure my money isn't used to subsidize those franchises.

        • I guess you and all the people you know live under a rock. Everyone knows the NFL consistently gets the highest TV ratings and bring the most ad dollars. So, how many sponsors/advertising partners are you boycotting to avoid subsidizing those franchises? Is it zero? lol

        • Then don’t watch sports. No one cares what you think or what you do . But to pretend you represent the average person is absurd. Why do you think they hold these games in full stadiums that hold 60k-70k people? Many teams have season ticket waiting lists that are years long.

          • Actually, I do seem to represent the average. Steve above says an average televised game is 17 million people. That's 5% of the US. Compare to the number of US Amazon Prime members, at an estimated 163.5 million in 2022; that's 50% of the US population.

Even if we assume that every single person who has bothered to watch an average game is also an Amazon Prime member, that's still just 10% of Amazon Prime members who care enough to watch an average game.

I'm sick and tired of all these leagues being in my face all the time everywhere. Just keep it to yourself, please! I can't not watch it when you throw it my way everywhere. I'd be more than happy to never have to watch it!

          • It's not the exact same pool of 17 million people watching every game, dummy. You seem low IQ and triggered. The NFL doesn't need you. You'll never watch again but instead you'll spend your time ranting about it on DofC. Stay stupid!

        • The average televised game is 17 million people. So, if you don't know anyone... cool... probably a lie... but a meaningless point regardless.

  • I'm about half way through Terminal List on Prime Video...totally recommend that if you like action genre movie/series.

It comes with lots of exhortations to watch football too.

  • Just a heads up, the games also stream for free on the primevideo Twitch channel. No prime membership required, and unlimited viewing devices because you dont need to sign in.

  • I hope this allows everyone to enjoy sportsball at home! May the odds forever be in your squadron's favor, Mr. Potter!

I haven't watched NFL in years as I'm part of those they hate. Like Pepperidge farms, I remember.

  • Never did enjoy men running around in tight uniforms grabbing each other.

Or now and in the future. But to each his or her own. Not here to judge.

  • Want to point out that Prime is not required if you want to view the games on a computer, tablet, or mobile device through Twitch. Unfortunately it will block you if you try casting to a TV.

    • I was trying to watch it on my phone because my Samsung tv prime video was like 1 min delayed. Twitch stream wasn't working on my phone and I downloaded twitch app on my fire stick and that didn't work as well. I was using someone else's prime account so didn't know their pw.

    • Well, first of all, Amazon Prime Video is pretty decent, as far as video services go. You don't have to pay for Prime if you don't want to, you can just get the Prime video for $8.99 month.
And even if you can't find anything you'd want to watch on Prime video (unlikely, it's worth it just for 'Reacher'), and only want to watch the football games, that would come out to about $2.25 per game for the 4 months you'd need to pay for the service. That's pretty reasonable.
