Our Verdict
Pretty good deal if there is an item you actually need to re-order and have an Alexa compatible device and have Amazon prime (that’s a lot of IF’s, but I suspect a lot of readers fall into this category). Although the deal has expired, the issued promo code is ALEXAREORDER, if someone wants to try. Looks like they whitelist the accounts that reordered through Alexa, as I was able to use on my main account (which I used for reordering) but not the household account.
Curious to know if gift cards work on this. Not amazon gift card but third party ones (restaurants, etc) I haven't ordered a restaurant card yet. Likely will in the next day or two
Tried re-ordering a third party gift card but Alexa is stubborn or doesn't want to reorder. I've never re-ordered with Alexa before, does she state 'reordering X'. Anytime I've said re-order Amazon gift card... she just states 'amazon gift card, would you like to buy it?'

FYI, Amazon iPhone app now has Alexa built in. I wonder if it will work with these types of offers (they have one for $5 promotional credit if purchase $25 GC with Alexa also):
