AMC Launches AMC Entertainment Credit Card

Update 4/14/23: AMC has launched the card and it’s unfortunately not competitive at all.

  • 50x points per $1 spent at AMC Theatres
  • 20x points per $1 spent on gas, dining, groceries
  • 10x points per $1 spent on gas, dining, groceries

5,000 points = $5.

Original post: AMC Theatres has announced plans for an AMC credit card issued by Celtic Bank. The card will officially launch in early 2023 and you can currently join the waitlist. The only thing we know currently is that the sign up bonus will be $50 in AMC Stubs bonus bucks.

  • Rebate is paid in their crummy stock. Lol. Nft prices have collapsed over 90 percent. A pet rock

  • The card's real-life moving spotlights and 2% rate on dining/groceries/gas were attractive. But it's the NFT that won me over.

Move over, Citi Costco Anywhere card. You're leaving my wallet to make room for my new baby.

    • You had me at real-life moving spotlights. I'm cutting up my 3% AOD now. Hello Daddy!

  • Willchuck, if you're going to trash this card, you might as well mention the SUB, which according to TPG valuations will be potentially priceless:

Get this limited time offer by applying, opening a card, and spending $50 within your first 3 months.³

³A-List and Premiere members can redeem for tickets or up to $50 in concessions. Insiders can only redeem for up to $50 in concessions. $50 Bonus Bucks will be delivered to the AMC Stubs member following the monthly account statement that includes the qualifying transactions in which the cardholder has spent a total of $50 or more on the account. Offer expires 90 days from issuance. Valid at AMC Theatres in USA only; no cash back or cash value. Offer valid for new cardholders who apply on or before 7/31/23.

Plus, receive a limited edition NFT – featuring custom artwork from the AMC Entertainment Visa Card – exclusively for initial cardholders who spend $50 or more within their initial 3 months. Open a card by 7/31 and receive your unique redemption link via email on 11/1.⁴

  • Due to high application volume, we’re experiencing unusually slow response times. Our credit card issuing partner is working quickly to address and we apologize for any inconvenience.

The AMC Entertainment Visa Card is Powered by Deserve, Inc. and issued by Celtic Bank, a Utah-chartered Industrial Bank, Member FDIC.

    • Exactly. For every hardcore MSer here who is all "dis card sux", there are at least 10 more people out there who are willing to go to the moon for that limited-edition NFT and $50 SUB 🚀🐑🐑🚀

In other words, this card will do fine and does not need help from anyone in this community lol

    • If you need any help converting AMC Bonus Bucks to Rwandan or Burundian francs, I'm your guy!

  • The card is live, and it is shit.

Was holding out hope for free or discounted A-List (even with annual fee). $250 spent in a month gets you a large popcorn. SUB of $50 in concessions. 5% earning rate at AMC. 2% dining, etc. 1% everything else.

    • yeah, shame. it's just not competitive at all.
a couple notes. the card ups your amc earning rate by 5% so if ur a list or premiere that puts your total amc earning rate to 15% (for every $33.3 spent you'll get a $5 reward).
this card also pauses amc point expiration entirely (only matters if you're an 'insider' which makes the rest of the card less useful so...)
and i guess technically the total sub would be $50 + 5 large popcorns (~$50) for spend of $1500 ($250/mo for 6 months).

at least its a no hard pull app, lol. probably still won't go for it.

      • I believe you are mistaken. There is no hard inquiry to see if you are approved, but actually getting the card will result in an inquiry:

Find out if you’re approved without negatively impacting your credit.*

*Accepting your credit offer will result in a hard credit inquiry which may impact your credit score
