  • so if i make a couple award bookings in jan and feb that i may not use i can cancel up till what point and i get a complete refund of all points?

  • Sounds good, but it is American Airlines, which lived by alternative facts even before the outgoing Administration "invented" them. I'll wait and see how a few play-bookings seem to work. Details of compensation for taxes and ancillary fees will clearly be important, and it's a mystery why they weren't so much as mentioned.

  • I think it was haphazard but I was not charged redeposit fees when canceling a flight I had scheduled for next month. I canceled back in June when the cruise associated with the flight was canceled.

  • Am I missing it, or it does not say anything about how they are going to handle $$ portion of the award booking? I.e. fees and taxes.. obviously I would not worry about $5.60 per leg locally, but for international travel fees could be a substantial portion of the ticket. Are those fees will be refunded (as is the case with SW), or not? The statement references only "no fees to redeposit miles". A clarification would be very helpful.

  • Looks good on paper, but doesn’t that mean award space will become even harder to find once things return to some kind of normal?

    • Nah, they'll just copy (*pulls paper out of a hat*) United and rise the award price close to departure.
