American Express & CLEAR have announced they have extended their partnership meaning American Express cardholders will continue to receive a credit when purchasing CLEAR. The following cards provide this:
- Consumer, Corporate, & Small Business Platinum Cards: Statement credit up to $189 per calendar year
- American Express ® Green Card: Statement credit up to $189 per calendar year

It’s unclear how long the partnership has been renewed for.

The last three times I flew out of LAX the Clear/TSA line was not in operation. The three times before that, it was open but they made me show my ID for this and that reason which kind of defeats the purpose. I just cancelled mine and know it won't really make much difference for me.
The line at CLEAR was longer than TSA precheck line at Newark last week.
Can confirm, there was literally no on inline at TSA Precheck where as the Clear line was at least 10 folks deep lol.
This post reminded me to go and cancel my Clear membership auto renewal. Clear offered to extend my membership by 2 months for free, by clicking through the cancellation prompts on the website

Amex exercised the first of two one-year extensions in the deal.

Clear is a scam. I don't understand what value it adds, other than to allow people to pay to cut the line
The same value as a fast pass in a theme park. You get somewhere faster. Some people value that.
I had TSA precheck at JFK airport pre-pandemic. So did 9 gazillion other people. The only people who made it through security quickly were the Clear people. That's about it for Clear. It's kind of inconvenient or unnecessary anywhere I travel (I see you Denver airport.)
Exactly. If you are main airport is a big airport, it can be a major time saver. Even in SEA, it'll shave you off 30+ min if it is during peak traffic hours.
I paid for clear before it was provided as a benefit. That combined with TSA Precheck I'm through security in 5-6 minutes tops usually. I went to Orlando with friends and they had neither and were in line for 1.5 hours while I was in and out in 10 minutes. Time is money my friend.
I had the same experience at ORD. It was busy there and even the Clear line took maybe 20 minutes to get through. But it was far far shorter than the TSA precheck line. I have both Clear and precheck to maximize options.
The value add is exactly what you just stated: "allow people to pay to cut the line."
For the people that use it...apparently that is the exact value proposition.
You answered your own question lol
“It’s unclear how long the partnership has been renewed for.” Hidden dad joke in here?
another useless partnership
Clear credit= uber credit
Why? I've told Amex how useless CLEAR is, cut this and lower the AF $50 and you'd have happier cardholders.
now just CLEAR and UberEats need to extend their partnership for giving exorbitant GC for signing up
