American Express has announced plans for a new and bigger centurion lounge at Dallas Fort-Worth. The lounge will move from it’s currently location (opposite gate d17) to a new location next D17. The new lounge will have the following:
- 3,000 feet more space (increasing from 9,000 to 12,000 feet)
- 1 extra shower suite (increasing from 2 to 3)
- Addition of private telephone room
- Addition of private mother’s room
- Lounge will be on the mezzanine level just inside security
- Will open in the first half of 2018
This lounge has had a lot of issues with overcrowding and even the changes to the centurion lounge guest policy haven’t been able to fix these issues. I’d be interested to know how much new floor space the lounge will actually have when you take into account the extra shower suite, private telephone room and the mother’s room. It’s a shame they aren’t creating this lounge in addition to the one they already have but I’m sure American Express would prefer to spend that money opening a lounge at another airport instead.

I was there on July 4th. Place was packed. Not a single seat available. Glad to hear they're expanding it, though I wish instead they added one in a different section of the airport. Hard to make it worth getting there from Terminal C.
I have visited 4 Centurion lounges and DFW was already the best (although Vegas is pretty nice too). Can't wait for the new bigger one. This is one of the main reasons I hang on the AMEX Plat card.
What they need to do is open a lounge in ORD! I find it hilarious there are Amex Plat ads posted throughout the airport, yet no lounge.....
2nd that. Joe. Need one in ORD.
I was just there 2 days ago. Its the largest amex lounge I have been to. It is also one of the nicest centurion lounge. It was busy but I guess I was fortunate to easily find a seat.
First half of 2018, meh, anywhere from Jan 1 - June 30.
Still waiting on that PHL lounge that's supposed to have opened already.
Yeah, they aren't exactly known for hitting their deadlines. I guess this one was intentionally left vague because of that.
