Our Verdict

This offer basically works out to be spend $10,000 within the first six months and get a $350 bonus. Previous best bonus was for $300 but only required $7,500 in spend within 12 months. This is an extra $50, but requires $2,500 in spend. Most people will/should prefer the previous offer, but obviously that’s not available so signing up for this offer/card might make sense. The 1.5% ongoing earn rate is not that interesting as lots of other cards earn at a higher rate, for a full list of those click here. If you’re thinking of applying, make sure you read these things everybody should know about American Express cards first.

  • @will New incognito offer for up to $300 in 6 months...
10% CB (up to $150) at Supermarkets during first 6 months
$150 back on $1,000 spend during first 6 months

I wasn't able to pull up the same offer as a referral, instead that one was for $250 in 6 months.
10% CB (up to $150) at Supermarkets during first 6 months
$100 back on $1,000 spend during first 6 months

  • How does incognito work. Just go incognito then google for the offer or would it be on the amex site

  • I don't see how this is even remotely an acceptable offer. $10,000 spending is too much for a bonus of $350 unless ms.
This card now has a welcome bonus of $200 after $1,000 spending (Public), and my platinum refer gives $225/$1,000. Aren't these much better?
    I don't get it.

    • Extra $150 after spending an additional $9000.00
Works out to 1.67% additional cash back.
This is not factoring in any referral bonuses.

      I agree, hard pass

  • Got this card a little over a year ago, spent the $1K for $250 sign-up bonus, but haven’t used the card since. If you’ve done every other card and are lol/24, why not?

  • IF I read DoC correctly, that requerd spend to reward ratio is insane compared to CIC and CIP combined.

  • Is the extra 3.5% supposed to credit to the account when the regular 1.5% credits? I chatted with a rep and she confirmed the extra 3.5% but there's nothing in my account. She didn't seem to want to bother with it any further after saying that and said my option is to open an investigation, which I did. My only assumption is they are reviewing the account like they did a few months back with my Aspire, and they denied the bonus on that one even though that one had no language restriction.

  • I've been using this card assuming I have been getting the extra 3.5% and my second statement just closed yesterday. I've only been getting 1.5% and I've already spent 9000 on the card. What a joke that amex played. I wish there was a way they would tell you exactly what you're earning when you make the spend.

  • A clever way to entice sub 700 FICO scores to apply and rack up 10k in debt, then hit them with APR when they need to revolve.
