Our Verdict
This is the highest public bonus we’ve ever seen on these cards before. Pretty good deal if you need Delta miles (and especially the MQM), if you don’t have an instant need for them I’d probably just wait for a higher bonus/until you do need the miles as I suspect this deal will be the new normal for increased offers on this card. You can also get a bonus of 50k miles + $100 statement credit on the personal gold card and 50k miles + $50 statement credit on the business gold card.
If you have any questions, they are probably answered in our post about things you should know about American Express credit cards. If they aren’t, let us know and I’ll answer them in the comments below. One thing in particular to keep in mind is that there is a rumor of a new American Express card coming out soon and you’re limited to two American Express credit cards within 90 days of each other.

I am going to get the platinum delta but my fico on amex.com is 696 right now because I had a high balance to CL ratio (22% or something). Should I apply now (before November 9th) or sometime before February 1, 2017 (which is the referral offer and my score should go up after they soft pull it again since my ratio is around 10% now)? I have never been declined my amex before and currently have 3 personal cards with them.
I'd lower your utilization first and then apply
These points are Delta miles, so they instantly transfer to Delta.
What is the best thing to buy from delta to get the credit. Does it have to be a flight?
gift card worked for me
I see on a long for the platinum "$0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $175". Is this an error?

If I got Delta gold in the past, am I eligible to get the bonus from this platinum card?
Yes. Different product.
question about the 10K+70K: will i have 80K miles total in my spendable-miles account? Or 70K, with 10K of them noted as MQMs?
70k. MQM is for status only.
well, shoot.
and i don't suppose the $100 Delta Statement Credit is once-per-calendar-year, it's just once-only right? b/c i'd love to do it twice before the AF hits.
Spend is $5,000 on the Platinum Business, not $3,000.
Fxed
If I upgraded from Gold to Platinum at some point in the past and received an upgrade bonus, can I still get a sign-up bonus?

Is the companion pass only after paying the annual fee for the second time? If so, the annual fee seems high without any many perks.
Amex doesn't match offers, right?
I got this card three months ago with only 60k bonus.
:(
Always worth asking, Amex doesn't match but they give courtesy miles often (basically the same thing)
right, thank you.
do people have better luck with online chat or calling?
thanks.
Always calling is better, chat reps can't do much if anything.
