One of the hidden benefits of the American Express Platinum card is access to some unadvertised lounges in non airport locations. Unfortunately according to reddit user barefootBam Platinum cardholders no longer get access to “Access” VIP Lounge at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA.

They do now. Access has been restored since the beginning of 2022 for Platinum cardholders.
Where can we find the rest of the "hidden gems" we didn't even know they offered? Is there a list somewhere.
Thank you

I did not know Platinum has this benefit ;)
Oh my god what am I going to do now!
Well Damn!
The only time I ever went there was on the way to pick up my free Saks $50 gift card. Was a mildly fun combination of a couple of perks I would never use otherwise, but no big loss.
According to my information .. the "Access" lounge is simply closed since beginning of the pandemic, and it is in question if it reopens. It is not that Amex Plat members have no access anymore, it is not opened yet. Google maps suggests the same.
I was there this past weekend. It's open and I can corroborate that they are no longer accepting Amex Platinum. They will allow a "one-time" exception for that day but won't be able to use the Amex to get in anymore afterwards.
are they only accepting guests with high spend or staying at the local hotels exclusively then?
Our family frequent this lounge quite regularly prior to COVID. Quite disappointed that access is no longer available.
That's it, I'm out.
