The Fine Print

  • Minimum transfer is 250 Membership Rewards points.
  • Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. MT on November 1, 2017 to 11:59 p.m. MT on November 30, 2017, to receive 25% additional TrueBlue points.
  • TrueBlue points will be awarded at the time of transfer.
  • For each conversion of points into the Frequent Flyer program of a U.S. airline, a fee of $0.0006 per point, with a maximum fee of $99, will be charged to your Card account.

Our Verdict

American Express have offered the following transfer bonuses on JetBlue before:

As you can see they offered this same bonus just recently. Citi ThankYou points transfer at a 1:0.8 rate if you have one of their premium cards and they recently offered a 50% transfer bonus so that would have been a better deal. There is also currently a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic as well. You can view a full list of all the transfer bonuses American Express have offered here.

I heard once from my friend a travel agent:

Chase UR points are good to keep
Citi TY points are good to transfer
AA/Delta/United miles are good to sell
SW/JB/BA miles are good to use
Amex MR points are good to have
SPG points are good to save.

What does that really mean? Is “keeping” different than “saving” or “having”?

Its tempting. I have 90K MR points sitting and waiting for a good moment. Jet Blue or Hawaiian? Not sure. I might keep waiting.
