American Express centurion lounges are all currently closed due to COVID-19. American Express recently announced that the Las Vegas lounge would be overhauled and increased in size by 50%. New lounges at Heathrow, JFK & Denver have been delayed but are still on the horizon.
OMaaT has found that next Tuesday during the Port of Seattle’s meeting one topic is the new location for Seattle Centurion Lounge. The plans show that the new lounge would be 13,700 square feet (current lounge is 4,500 square feet). Lounge will be located in the upper level of the Central Terminal (new space created by the Central Terminal’s renovation).
Overcrowding has always been an issue at these lounges, so I’m not surprised to see American Express try to increase the floor space at these lounges. This obviously still needs to be approved and will take some time to construct. Given that it’s a new location though the existing lounge should be accessible during this period (once these lounges reopen).
