American Express has announced that starting on cardholders November billing cycle American Express Business Green, Gold & Platinum cardholders will be automatically enrolled in pay over time. Pay over time is a feature that allows charge cards that normally need to be paid in full each month carry a balance like a standard credit card. In the past American Express has offered cardholders an incentive of 10,000 points to enroll in this feature, but that is obviously no longer the case.
Given that cardholders are going to be automatically enrolled in this feature, it makes little sense that these are still charge and not credit cards as functionally they will now operate the same. At the start of August American Express announced that pay over time and pay it plan features would be added to the American Express Platinum cards.

last year I actually got the 10k offer from amex, enrolled, and never got the points! I went back and forth, provided the email they gave me, never received it. anyone had this happen?
Yes. Same thing happened to me. Was pretty disappointed in Amex about that. I think mine was in 18 tho.
I opted in the program last yr. Got 10k pts. Never used the plan tho.
Weird - I didn't get a notification (unless it was on the statement) and I'm definitely already opted-in - never manually opted-in for it either on these cards
Neve got lucky with those offers anyway
You can opt out of the auto enroll, and maybe still get the bonus at some point later. Maybe.
No you dont. In the old days more than a rep had told me that once you opt out, your card would not ever receive the targeted offer.
Yeah, I remember hearing that too. But those guys aren't exactly reliable, are they?
Welp, there go the enrollment bonuses.
