The Offer
- Signup for the Amex Delta Reserve Card and after spending $3,000 within 3 months, you’ll get:
- 10,000 MQM (Medallion Qualification Miles). These miles are not redeemable and instead count towards elite status.
- 40,000 Delta miles
Card Details
- $450 annual fee, not waived the first year
- If you spend $30,000 or more in a calendar year you receive 15,000 bonus miles and 15,000 MQM; if you spend $60,000 or more you’ll earn an additional 15,000 bonus miles and an additional 15,000 MQM
- $25,000 spend across all American Express Delta cards currently results in a MQD waiver through Diamond Medallion. Some rumors of this being removed, but if so this is a change happening on Delta’s end and our American Express sources are currently unaware of this happening.
- Delta Sky Club access (can also bring two guests for $29 per person. Keep in mind you must be arriving or departing on a Delta marketed or operated flight to be eligible for access). Authorized users also get this access, previously they were $175 each but possibly free now?
- Companion Certificate (domestic first class or main cabin round trip companion)
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 2x miles on Delta purchases
- 1x miles on all other purchases
- Holding this card is used as a tie breaker for upgraders
Our Verdict
We gave you a heads up a few days ago that this was coming.
This is the highest sign up bonus on this card we’ve ever seen (previous high was 10,000 MQM and 10,000 miles).
As always, it’s worth reading these Things to Know about American Express before applying, including their once-in-a-lifetime rule.

I am new to the airline status thing. I hope you don't mind me asking a question:"if I obtain 25000 MQM and earn a silver status, is the status good for lifetime or just next year?" Thanks.
good through 13 months (Starting after Dec 31st of the current year) after the year in which you earn it, ...
Does Purchasing Delta Gift cards qualify for spending requirements?
Thanks for reply
For those who have the card is there a referral link? I would prefer to get a fellow traveller some extra miles rather than... you know the rest. Would a referral thread post be warranted?
Seems like it is a public long-term offer -- 40000 miles for Reserve, with Delta Gold 30000 miles regular offer; Delta Platinum 35000 miles regular offer.
This year the limited time offer are both doubling the regular one for gold and platinum. Is it possible it happnes in the future for Reserve -- something like 80000 miles for reserve?
Doubtful, I think this is the increased offer.Standard is 10k miles.
So only personal card? The business one is giving only 10,000 miles for sign up, unless I am not getting the right link to it.
Cheers,
PedroNY
no delta hub no good
do you know when this offer expires?
I don't, sorry.
Yeah SkyMiles just doesn't seem like a currency worth hanging onto anymore.
This seems strange to me - pay $450 for Delta lounge access and 40k Delta miles + MQMs for this card, or pay $450 for Delta + centurion + other lounge access and 60+k Delta (or 15+ partner) miles AND all other benefits of the AMEX Plat Bus card...
Not a rhetorical question - why would anyone choose the former? Absent the MQMs, the latter is pure pareto improvement, no?
MQM and MQD is important to some people.
All the miles just don't excite me anymore.
