Our Verdict
This is targeted towards Consumer Platinum cardholders and also consumer/business Centurion cardholders. You also need to have had an account as of 11/1/2020 or you won’t be eligible unfortunately. Bit surprised to see this generous offer after the $30 PayPal credit was announced as well. I hope Business cardholders get something good as well. Same offer for Home Depot as well!

As usual I waited until the last minute/days to do this ... is it (reasonably) clear that ordering Amazon GC for curbside pickup will work?
worked for me this month.
thanks for the reply!
I purchased $50 Amazon gift card for in-store pickup. Got email saying I used offer - we shall see if credit posts. I know people have said it works for curbside, but I haven't seen a DP yet for in-store. Terms seem to exclude both.
Anyone still have this offer in their Amex offers? I haven’t used it yet and it has disappeared from my added offers. Same with the Home Depot offer.
Yes, it is still there for me.
I purchased a $50 amazon gf got canceled. I bought 2 $25 gift card within one transaction and got 2 transactions on my statement. WTF!
Did you get the Amex credit?? You able to redeem the Amex offer?
I purchased 2 Amazon gift card $50 each from Bestbuy.com site using Amex Platinum card. The order was successfully placed, and got confirmation from Amex that offer got triggered. However, after 10-15mins, BestBuy cancels the order citing reason as profile couldn't be verified. I confirmed that bestbuy profile has email id verified and my credit card billing address was correctly entered. I later placed almost 4-5 different orders on different dates, for different location curbside pickup, but all orders would get cancelled after 2-3hrs.
I called BestBuy customer care but they are clueless about why order got rejected. I purchased few items from Bestbuy in the past, but never faced such cancellation issue.
Has anyone else faced similar issue with BestBuy or any idea how I can take benefit of this Amex-BestBuy offer?
Finally, I am able to purchase BP Gas physical gift card at bestbuy.com (shipping free), using Amex Platinum. It seems, BestBuy online blocked my IP address on some previous attempt (probably due to some random reason), and since then, all my orders got auto-canceled with a message - "we couldn't verify your info so we canceled order".
Today, I logged into VPN (which resulted in a change of IP address) and was able to make a successful purchase through BestBuy online site! Also, I find that if you purchase the item as a Guest (without logging into your account), then it works as well! You can link your order with your account later by calling customer care.
Also, I am told Amazon physical gift cards are no longer available for shipment, you need to either do curbside pickup or store pickup (both these options wont trigger Amex offer)!
Sharing this tip for everyone who is stuck because of this issue, n not able to avail Amex offer! Customer care don't know this resolution, and I wasted almost 2-3 hrs following up with Bestbuy customer care!
I got Amex confirmation saying that the Amex offer got triggered. Now I wait to confirm if I actually get the credit into my account!!
I have wasted much time today with the same issue. I even get an email from Amex congratulating me for using my offer. AX says they are not refusing the charge and my billing address matches. AX says it has to be a Best Buy problem. I spoke with Best Buy internet support, they have no clue. I am trying to buy a 3rd party digital GC.
Got any luck? Able to use Amex Bestbuy offer?
Same. Still dunno why
You able to use this benefit thru some other option?
Does anyone know if the $50 minimum includes sales tax? I found an iHome clock/charger for $49.99. With tax it's $54.24. I could find something cheap to make over $50 actual, but was just curious if anyone knew for sure?
@guest_1170364 Amex offers always count sales tax as part of the purchase. As long as the total charged is at least the minimum required for the offer, you’ll get the credit.
Avi, thank you. I can also verify from my statement that even though the product was just under $50, the amount including sales tax did meet the $50 requirements and I was credited!
I can confirm that purchasing a $50 amazon card with curbside pickup triggered the credit. It looks like last month Amex was having issues with the Amex Offers in general. For my purchase the email showed up instantly, and the purchase was listed in the "savings" tab the next day.
Purchased third party G.C. along with some items on 02/08.. still no credit, email, and nothing in the savings tab indicating the offer was used
$50 Amazon gift card, purchase on bestbuy.com for curbside pickup finally posted. Looks like this method is good to go, going to do all me and p2 pick ups at once for the remainder.
When did you make the purchases?? Mine was posted on Feb.8 and still no credit.
Do you know if these offers such as the best buy and home Depot show up on authorized user platinum cards too or just on the primary account holders card?
