Our Verdict

Great deal if targeted. I’d recommend saving it as soon as possible as I expect this will hit the enrollment cap.

  • Puzzling. It didn't work for me yet.
I added the offer to my Amex blue cash preferred card. Then a few days later purchased in-store a $200 Amazon GC and a $50 Home Depot GC.

$250 transaction at Best Buy physical store on 12/21. This morning on 12/30 the offer is obviously expired 4 days ago but nothing related to this redeemed offer under savings.

I'd call but the terms state, what 2 statements for credit? Not valid on gift cards? Instant cancellation and jail time if somebody at AMEX thinks you're gaming the system? GCs for merchants I will be purchasing from anyway over the next couple of months. (Although 5% back from Chase @ Amazon would have been better than buying at face value)

    • Update - It did post what felt like forever. Purchase on 12/21. Nothing to reflect usage. Then *bam* on 1/10 a $25 credit and an entry in the savings tab.

    • Sometimes it takes some time. I don’t think that buying the gift cards excluded you. As long as your total was 250 or more by the expiration date, it should work.

  • Bought 250 Delta GC with 25 BBY GC free earlier this week; no credit posted yet and no email about offer being used.

    • I did a 200 amazon eGC and a 50 disney eGC and I got the email from Amex a few hours later. I also went through RMN for hopefully another 4% cashback which is not yet pending but usually takes about a day to show up.

  • The iPad 9th generation is 249.99. If I go to the store and buy the iPad with Amazon card. Would that trigger the 25?

    • First, you'd want to pay with the Amex card ;)

But as long as the charge is over $250 (assuming tax), it would trigger the $25 offer.

        • Yes, it does trigger it. BB CC sends offers as well (if you use their cc). Although, buying an iPad with a g. card would leave not protection on that iPad.. assuming you'd keep it rather than sell it for profit..

    • Yeah, those enrollment limited offers have to be added right away. They seem to go faster and faster.

    • Should work as long as it's done through best buy's normal checkout. AFAIK the only thing that would cause an issue is if you buy Best Buy digital gift card , since that goes through cash star checkout.
