Our Verdict
Amex also has an offer on their business cards to get 10% off on Boxed.com purchases. If you find them both on the same card, should stack. Also remember that if you find a points offer and a cash offer on your cards, you can save one of each, e.g. if you see one $20 offer and one 2,000 points offer.
Boxed frequently runs various promotions, including signup offers and other promotions which can stack with the Amex Offers. Also remember to shop through a portal for your Boxed purchases.
Does their system really distinguish between alcohol purchase and regular purchase for Amex Offer? I know they do for the hotel booking, but for now, it looks like their alcohol purchase might go through the same system as the merchandise purchase.

Yes. It did. But its expired now.
I have a hard time using these offers – everything on Boxed is crazy expensive compared to Amazon/Walmart/etc.
Is there some great deal I’m missing?
It works out to be a good deal when combining coupon codes, cash back sites, and Amex offers. But on its face, not a good deal.
I usually buy stamps plus other things to reach the limit. You can only order 1 set of 100 Forever stamps. If you don’t use stamps, you can always donate them.
why would someone donate the stamps just to use the amex offer? If you are going to donate, the chosen charity probably would prefer other forms of donation than receiving a roll of stamps…
Actually some charities do ask for Forever stamps.
That’s a great idea for donation. I never give cash to my food panty since I think can probably spend it better and donate more. One a month I call them to find out their more needed supplies and then find deals on them so I can buy and donate. Usually paper goods and hygiene products. Both I can usually get at boxed.com with coupons and amex offers.
