[Expired] Amex Offers: Chevron, Texaco, Spend $35 & Get $5 (3x)

Deal has expired, view more AmEx offers by clicking here.

The Offer

Check your Amex Offers for the following deal:

  • Spend $35 at Chevron or Texaco gas and get a $5 statement credit. Limit 3 statement credits for a total of $15.

The Fine Print

  • At the pump only
  • Valid through 12/31/19.

Our Verdict

I haven’t found this one yet on my cards. If your car uses less than $35 of gas, consider buying a higher grade to meet the threshold. Should stack nicely with the $5 off $35 at US Gas stations offer as you should get both credits with a single $35 purchase.

  • My credit card never works at the pump for these deals. I always have to go and show and ID to the clerk, causing me to miss out on the deal. Does anyone else have this problem or is there a work around?

    • At Chevron? I inserted mine, cancelled after it prompted for zip and NFC'd it, meanwhile it said on the screen: take it to the cashier, can't swipe, but it took the NFC, didn't even need a zip.

    • When your Home (Billing) Address has different ZIP code than your Alternate Address then use the Home/Billing ZIP code. Worked for me. Going and showing ID to the clerk worked for me on this deal too. Probably just need to be patient, recheck your statement activity in another day or two and post results.

  • These $5 offers aren’t worth it. Costco by me is $2.29 for regular and if I go in with the gas light on it takes 11 gallons to fill up.

Feel bad for folks in CA!

    • yeah, good luck finding a Chevron that isn't already 20% higher than Sams Club or even Conoco or King Soopers.

      • I paid 3.89 for premium instead of 3.65-3.79 at costcos, got just under 9 gallons ($35.02) and went from just under E to about 5/8ths tank. No, I don't drive a pickup... just a small car with a 15.x gal tank. Paid about $2.24 more, but I'll get $10 back.

      • It must be area dependent.
Prem gas for me is a mere 5-7c difference among Costco/Fred Meyer and Exxon Mobile Chevron.

    • They also suggest going premium to hit the spend amount, but premium is 60 cents more where I am at. If you need to do that to meet spend the whole offer is a loss.

    • I tell productive calis all the time Texas is a big enough home for all of them and we like our businesses and our people.

  • This is when it "helps" to live in CA. No worries about my gas tank not being large enough.

  • Anyone having issues with the retarded BPMe App? Does not work at Gas station and shows technical errors....tried at 3 different BP Pumps:locations and no luck with error only 🤬🤬

    • I’ve had so much trouble adding any payment cards to the App (Serve, BB, BCP-all cards I had the offer on). Get error message every time. So frustrating...and BP hasn’t been of much help.

    • Yes - same here. Could not get app to work at several BP stations. Deleted the app and have moved on.
