      • Tried on 11/29, so far no email confirmation, and no credit yet. But I saw an old dp on an old post.

        • I want to make a purchase, but the buyer doesn't accept AMEX :-(. None of the metals dealers accept AMEX...it is annoying. But they do accept PayPal.

I remember that I was able to trigger the $25-off-$250 Best Buy deal a few years back using PayPal+AMEX (PayPal at the time had a $25 off $250 offer which stacked, so you could get a $275 purchase for $225). Same for B&H Photo, the stackable PayPal and AMEX deals stacked, and AMEX triggered OK.

I looked back, and my insurance payment to Progressive triggered a cash back offer I had with my AMEX card. Progressive doesn't accept AMEX, but it does accept PayPal. The charge showed up as "PAYPAL *PROGRESSIVE 8007764737 OH" on Oct 24. I got the $15 cash back credit on Oct 25. It is worth noting that AMEX offers have been taking 3-5 days to credit whereas in the past it was 1-2 days.

          • My amex website payment says this charge "Will appear on your Dec 25 statement as PAYPAL *US 4029357733 CA". So, there is no Ebay word, unlike your Progressive charge. Maybe it does not work for Ebay.

          • Ahhh that sucks. Yeah my entry on PP website for that insurance payment said "You'll see "PAYPAL *PROGRESSIVE" on your card statement." which is exactly what I saw, as noted above.

  • How to stack/maximize small ebay discounts: Say you're going to buy an item on ebay for $100 and you want to pay only $15 with amex card to get $5 back. You can buy $85 worth of ebay gift card(s) someplace else to get 5-10% discount/cashback first. Then pay for your $100 item with $85 gift card(s) and $15 with Amex card.
Oct. through Dec. I'm using Paypal payment method to buy eBay GCs (any amount up to $250) on CouponCabin for a combined 7.2% discount (2.2% CC CB, plus 5% Chase CB).
In the example above your total savings would be $11.12 vs just $5 CB from Amex.

  • Check your BankAmeriDeals offers. BofA is offering 5% off on eBay via special link/code. Up to $50 off per transaction. Can be used 10 times (up to $500 combined savings).
I reached out to Doc, hopefully they'll add a separate post about it.

  • Does anyone know, is it work with multiple purchase?
for example, spends $5 at Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, totally $15, is it eligible for cash back?

  • Does ebay take split tender payments? I've never tried and got targeted on all my Amex cards!..... hmm....

  • Got this on multiple cards. Bought a lego video game as a Christmas present for $20, so $5 is 25% off. :D No idea what else to buy there though
