The Offer
- Enroll your Card to earn a $10 Statement Credit after you spend $200 at U.S. Restaurants. Enjoy this offer up to 5X to earn up to $50 in Statement Credits.
- Others are seeing a similar offer, but for 2,000 points instead of $10 statement credit.
We only have the direct link for the points offer thus far.
The Fine Print
- Earnings are on top of the Points you earn just for using your Card.
- Offer ends 10/31.
Our Verdict
Reports of this offer that I’ve seen are only showing this offer on the various Hilton cards, not on any others. My understanding is that the $200 spend is cumulative, making the offer more feasible, but I don’t have the fine print to check that.

Here is the terms. they sent me this offer in late July
Terms & Conditions
1. Enroll and earn 2,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points after you spend $200 on eligible purchases at U.S. restaurants on your Hilton Honors American Express Card (“the “Purchase Requirement”), starting from the time you complete enrollment through October 31, 2019 ("Purchase Period"), up to 5 times for a maximum of 10,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points. Enrollment period ends on 10/31/2019.
If you reach the Purchase Requirement, the Hilton Honors Bonus Points will be credited to your account within 8 weeks after October 31, 2019. Eligible purchases to meet the Purchase Requirement of this offer include those made by both the Basic and Additional Card Members on the Card Account. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person‑to‑person payments, or purchases of any cash equivalents. Purchases may fall outside of the Purchase Period (and therefore not be eligible for the Bonus Points) in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you make a purchase online, the purchase date may be the shipping date.)
To be eligible, the purchase must be at a restaurant located in the United States. Purchases made at a restaurant owned by a U.S. company but located outside the U.S. (e.g. Hard Rock Café in Paris) are not eligible. Purchases at superstores, warehouse clubs, nightclubs, convenience stores, grocery stores, or supermarkets are not eligible. Purchases at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g. a restaurant inside a hotel, casino, or event venue) may not be eligible. For example, purchases made at a restaurant located within a hotel may be recognized as a purchase at a hotel, not a restaurant.
To receive the Hilton Honors Bonus Points, your Card Account must not be cancelled or past due at the time of fulfillment. Additional Card Members are not eligible to receive this offer. Bonus Points do not count toward elite tier qualification; for more information, visit Hiltonhonors.com/terms. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time. The Hilton Honors Bonus Points you may earn as part of this offer are in addition to any other Bonus Points you may get from using your Card. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card.
Merchants are typically assigned codes and categorized based on what they primarily sell. A purchase will not be eligible if a merchant, or a particular merchant location, uses a code that is not eligible. A purchase may not be eligible if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases made through a third‑party payment account or on an online marketplace (with multiple retailers) will not receive additional points.
Please visit americanexpress.com/rewards-info for more information about rewards.
2. You will receive 3 Hilton Honors Bonus Points for each dollar of eligible purchases. You will receive 2 additional Hilton Honors Bonus Points, for a total of 5, for each dollar of eligible purchases at the following categories of merchants excluding superstores and warehouse clubs: restaurants located in the U.S., supermarkets located in the U.S. and on gasoline at gas stations located in the U.S.
To get additional points for a restaurant purchase, the purchase must be at a restaurant located in the United States. You will NOT get additional points for purchases made at a restaurant owned by a U.S. company but located outside the U.S. (e.g. Hard Rock Café in Paris). You also will NOT get additional points for purchases at nightclubs, convenience stores, grocery stores, or supermarkets. You may not get additional points for purchases at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g. a restaurant inside a hotel, casino, or event venue). For example, purchases made at a restaurant located within a hotel may be recognized as a purchase at a hotel, not a restaurant.
We're sorry. This promotion is only open to invited Card Members.
restaurants gcs are more than 5% off anyway.
Got the 2000 points offer on my no fee Hilton card. Meh. That would get me 1/12th of the way there for a super cheap Hilton room. I think I'd rather have the 3x points for the Sapphire Reserve but signed up for it, just in case.
Well, pffft.

0/3 on my Hilton accounts.
Not targeted on my Aspire. If it was available, I am not sure I would use it, given that I have the Amex Gold. So if you spend exactly $200, you will get 10x bonus points on top of the usual 7x points for restaurants. You have to decide whether 17x Hilton points or 4x Amex points are more valuable. Plus the $200 increments are restricting. If you commit, spend $350, you would get 4450 points (down to 12.7x/$). Glad it works for some people though.
That sucks. I use my Aspire Card all the time and I wasn't targeted. Oh well maybe next time!
not targeted on my surpass
