[AR, MO, OK, KS + Targeted] Arvest Bank $150 Checking Bonus – Direct Deposit Not Required

Please note the fine print states: Only those who receive a GET 150 mailer are eligible for the Get 150 bonus offer.

    • Make one of the following transactions:
      • Direct deposit
      • Automatic Payment
      • Recurring debit card transaction
    • Complete eight debit card purchases

The Fine Print

  • Get 150 is an exclusive offer.
  • Offer expires 03/31/2018.
  • Only those who receive a GET 150 mailer are eligible for the Get 150 bonus offer. The Get 150 bonus offer is for new Arvest customers only. All account applications are subject to approval. This offer is limited to one account per customer. Arvest associates are not eligible to participate.
  • Account must be open a minimum of 30 calendar days to be eligible to receive a bonus. Bonus criteria must be met during a full month’s statement cycle to receive a bonus. Please consult an Arvest associate to help you determine when your statement cycle begins and ends.

  • We will credit your account with a $50 bonus at the end of each statement cycle, when all criteria (as described below) are met.

  • Account must be open and must not have a negative balance to receive each bonus.

  • Up to three $50 bonuses can be earned throughout six months when criteria is met within each of three complete statement cycles, and can result in a total bonus amount of $150. The potential to earn a bonus will terminate upon the end of your sixth statement cycle. You are responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes due on your bonus. Please consult your tax advisor.

  • If your account is closed, for any reason, during the bonus campaign timeframe, your eligibility to earn bonuses will end immediately upon account closure and any pending bonuses will be forfeited.
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Arvest Free Blue qualifies for this bonus and has no monthly fee to worry about. I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is any early account termination fee or not.

Our Verdict

$150 isn’t a huge bonus, but no direct deposit requirement is always nice to see. We don’t know if it’s a soft pull and if you can fund with a credit card either. I guess there is always a possibility that the targeted language won’t be enforced, but I guess we will need to sacrifice somebody to become the datapoint we want to see. For now it definitely won’t be going on our best checking bonus page until we know more.

  • Is this bank a joke? Today, I received an offer from the mailbox, and it says:
Ear up to $150 by completing the actions below each month for three months:

    1. Open a new personal checking account
    2. 2. have at least one qualifying direct deposit.

    ======================
Come on! Do we need to open a new checking account each month to get the bonus? Or, did they really mean that we need to open ONLY one checking account and make one DD each month for 3 months to get the bonus? Logically, I think that we are required to open ONLY one checking account, but the offer letter said the different thing.

  • The mailer I got said nothing about debit card transactions, nor did it list a minimum qualifying deposit, only that a qualifying direct deposit should be made. Did not get bonus payout so messaged CS via secure message and was told that I did not meet the requirements because of not using the debit card 8 times

  • Got a mailer today. Shows I only have to make a direct deposit, doesn’t say a minimum

Anyone know if there is a hidden minimum requirement?

  • 5 years later this link still works and shows expiration date of 7/8/23. Still has the same fine print though

  • Attempted to meet the first-month requirements with $500 Wells Fargo and Ally bank transfers as well as 8 debit card transactions.
    No bonus posted yet

Going to try Capital One with 8 debit card transactions this statement and see if that works.

    • I've been told by banker I qualify according to the terms but that I need to wait another 30 days after that first statement close date, so my first eligible date wont be until mid May. Will post back what happens

        • My first bonus was posted after the first statement was closed. I used Discover as ACH and 8 small transactions at cox.com (less than 50 cents for each transaction). I did get a mailer if that helps. The nearby branch is less than 3 miles from my house.

  • Opened in Kansas. Closest place was 120 miles away. We will see if they shut me down or if I get any bonuses. So far no hard pull on all 3 CB.

    • definitely a soft pull. Been 5 days and nothing. So far my account is opened and approved. Even got a welcome call from a banker. Slightly optimistic but still no clue if i will get the bonus being that I did not receive a mailer.

  • Opened an account. Selected "Promotional Mailer" in the "How did you hear about us?" section in case that makes a difference.

    Fingers crossed.

    Location: OKC, OK

    • Any luck so far? I did the same in KC and so far no $50. Wanted to get some data before trying to call.

      • Nothing yet, but I did receive a courtesy call from the local branch manager, and I brought it up with him then, and he said he will ask the marketing team what the timing was and the details. So no need for you to call, necessarily, I will update here

      • Only ACH or mailed check/in branch deposit.
Should be a soft pull; haven’t gotten any credit monitoring alerts in the past few hours.
