Atlas Card – $999 Annual Fee (Flight Cancellation Benefit & More)

Reader bockrr brought to our attention a new premium card called โ€˜Atlas Cardโ€˜ that comes with a $999 annual fee (this is a rebrand of the titan card by point). The benefits of the card are as follows:

  • $999 Annual fee
  • Access to Atlas supper club (reservations at exclusive restaurants)
  • $189 credit towards CLEAR membership
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 5x points with BLADE on helicopter rides and flights
    • 3x points on highest spend category
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Cancel flights without fees (up to $600 annually. $100 per claim up to six claims)
  • One Medical membership ($199)
  • Erewhon Cafe membership ($100)
  • FUTURE fitness training membership ($25 per month, up to $300 annually)
  • Card is 21 gram steel alloy, milled, engraved, and polished to a brilliant mirror shine

Our Verdict

Flight cancellation benefit is interesting but no matter how you slice itโ€™s extremely hard/impossible to justify the annual fee especially when there is no sign up bonus.

  • This feels like an amalgam of the Apple Card and Barclays pretentious Gold Card. Unless you spend time in both NYC and LA, you'll never use all the clunky benefits that are attached to this. Even then, I don't see anything close to enough value for even half of the $1K AF.

  • Reminds me of the Magnises card offered VIP access to clubs, hotel discounts, and various exclusive events and I think it is no longer in business. The problem with these cards is that AMEX Plat offers tangible benefits that these competitors like Atlas cannot match with their hard to use benefits.

  • This card is a clunker. I once had a super exclusive card with tons of perks. Red carpet invites, Playboy Mansion party, Gift baskets all sorts of things. The company went bust but it was a major thing for me for about a yr. The point program itself I think was 1.5 or something which was good in those days, or 2X. Cant remember. The card had US bank servicing it and I had the business card. They drafted my payment twice a month which was so weird. But for me it was worth it. I was sad when they tapped out.
