Update: I’d recommend reading the comments as it appears this is a corporate code only available for specific workers. Could affect insurance or even the ability to pick up a car. IMO Avis should make this clearer when using such codes if they are intended for a specific audience.

Rental car prices are crazy in a lot of places at the moment. This isn’t a true 60% discount when compared to other places, but still a significant savings (as always price compare). Stacks with the AmEx offer for $75 off $250 as well. Some people are saying that miles aren’t included in the rate, but YMMV as others are saying that unlimited miles are included.

HI did anyone use the promocode in the brooklyn area or in the airports in the area of brooklyn?
Downtown sports the sign, and asks for ID...I can't imagine airport gate doing it; it would be great to hear confirmation!

Any idea if Avis will refund the prepaid amount if they ask for the Amazon ID, but you do not have it? Not sure whether to cancel for free before getting there.

Completed a reservation using the code with no questions asked. Was even upgraded to a new four runner from a mid sized car with Avis preferred status. I'm sure its very YMMV

you don't ask them (question would be silly). When you show up, neigbourhood counters always ask, while airports never do

I was able to cancel today and had the cancellation fee waived (I had pre-paid) - called 1-888-439-0630.
This worked for me. They waived it as a "courtesy"

I think that the trend since Covid started is for people to rent cars over flying. Therefore prices and reservations had skyrocketed. Now people are tired of the high prices and many customers are using codes to fight back. The emails that so many are getting when using codes potentially means that Avis is looking into cracking down on the unauthorized usage by sending system generated emails. Now the question is, will they verify with the actual company if that person who rented is an employee or not and therefore ban accounts.
How likely are they to actually verify your ID?
I was able to cancel and get the fee waived by calling 1-800-633-3469 tonight.
