AwardWallet Increasing Prices To $49.99 Per Year (From $10 For Grandfathered Customers)

AwardWallet is increasing prices to $49.99 per year, some users are currently paying $10 per year under a grandfathered price but that will stop on December 18, 2024. The full e-mail sent out is as follows:

We are writing to let you know that the price of AwardWallet Plus will be increasing to $49.99 per year on December 18, 2024. We are truly grateful for your support over the years. As one of our very early customers, we’ve kept your subscription cost at $10 per year—even as the price of AwardWallet Plus increased for new subscribers. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer this discount going forward. This change helps us ensure the security and reliability of the product we all love and allows us to invest in improvements and exciting new features. Rest assured that you won’t be paying more for just the same product—we think you’re going to enjoy what’s coming. 

This is disappointing as at the $10 price point it was an easy keep.

  • I paid the $150. I've used them for years and had the $10 price locked in until now. I hope they use this to improve the service. I did not set autorenew on so if they are around in 5 years and things haven't improved I think I will not extend.

  • Can anyone provide instructions on how to cancel? I can't figure out how to do it on the awardwallet website.

  • Long time subscriber at the $10 rate, seeing the $30 renewal offer for up to five years as a "limited-time offer"

    Managing dozens of accounts for several family members, $10 is a steal... but not so sure about $30, much less the $50 rate

    • I got the same offer. Thought that resembles a fair price, and contemplated accepting it. Turns out that you have to pay $150 up front for 5 years. Hmm. Seeing how things are going, can I even count on this service surviving 5 more years?

  • Considering the amount of manual work I already had to do to update accounts anyway, this'll be an easy cancel, and I'll just do it manually.

    • Same. I have 15 accounts in there but I rarely check them so whenever I do it takes a few minutes to manually sort out all the issues, to the point that I've wondered in the past if it wouldn't be faster to copy/paste numbers in a spreadsheet.

      I've always renewed anyway because I figured that for $10 it didn't really matter, and I didn't want to lose the $10 rate in case I start using it more in the future, but there's no way I'm paying $50 (or even the $30 promo rate).

  • Haha. Goodbye! $50 bucks for an app that doesn't even automatically monitor major airlines? I thought $10 was alot but it was pretty much pay and forget.

  • My subscription was renewed last week for $10. Going forward, I'm not going to pay $50 for it. I've checked my account and there is only an option "cancel membership". If I cancel now, will I still have a subscription till next November? I don't want to mess up.
