Quick Summary
Bank Account Quick Reference Spreadsheet [Link to Google Spreadsheet]
This spreadsheet can be thought of as another way to view the big DoC Bank Knowledge Base.
Reposting due to updated information, added functionality.
Spreadsheet Value
Perhaps you evaluate bank deals as they show up in your RSS reader, or use (Google) search to find them.
A spreadsheet is a nice additional tool because it allows you to sort and filter on multiple dimensions. For example, you might want to see all active, local, soft pull bank bonuses of a certain size.
You can add your own personal filter views to the spreadsheet. The following are a few sample filter views already added:
Active Filters
Filter | Notes |
Post Last 30 Days | Bank Bonuses posted/updated within the last 30 days |
Not Expired (with Date) | Unexpired Bank Bonuses (not including those with unknown expiration dates) |
Credit Card Funding Filters
Filter | Notes |
CC Funding (Sorted) | Sorted by potential credit card funding size |
CC Funding – Amex | Amex CC is allowed on initial account funding |
CC Funding – Soft – Michigan | Michigan Banks that do a soft pull and accept credit funding on initial deposit. |
CC Funding – Soft – USA v2.0 | Banks/Credit Unions available nationally that do a soft pull and accept credit card funding. (A work in progress – national availability data is not complete) |
Some More Example Filters
Filter | Notes |
[Location Filter] Michigan | Local and Regional Banks with a presence in Michigan. Every state has its own column. “*” indicate bonus available in only specific regions of the state. |
[Bonus Size Filter] BB $250+ | Bank Bonuses greater than or equal to $250 |
Hub Account Prospect | Hub Account options based on a number of dimensions |
More Details
Layout
Drill down from column headings or cells for more detail.
Location | Description |
Rows | One row per bank (financial institution) |
Column Headings | Link to the consolidated bank resource page (e.g. Is Opening a Bank Account a Soft or Hard Pull?) |
Cells | Link to a position within the bank resource page But may link directly to:
“*”s and colors attempt to highlight addition details or exceptions |
I would always recommend drilling down to the resource page:
- The spreadsheet may get out of sync with the source data (update times are shown in spreadsheet tab)
- You’ll get a sense of the quantity and quality of the data points supporting the determination
Warnings/Disclaimers
(In addition to all the standard disclaimers,) this resource is incomplete and filled with errors.
It is an attempt to summarize and categorize rules inferred from community data points.
Please share your data points and ideas to help improve the table.
Final Note
Big thanks to Will’s tireless effort to generate hundreds of bank bonus posts per year and the thousands of datapoints provided by the DoC Community.
All the best!

Its a shame this isn't kept up to date, would be an immensely valuable resource.
@6
can the table be updated, it looks like the last update was december 2021
Wow, thanks for putting this resource together! Definitely helps as I'm shopping around for banks currently.
is there a database like this of interest rates at banks updated relatively frequently? Money market dep, savings, checking, CD, etc.
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/high-interest-savings-to-get/
I use depositaccounts.com
Ballston Spa denied me due to Chex
The spreadsheet would be much more helpful if the entries had phone numbers and web site links.
Also, how often is this list updated?
The individual rows get updated as bonus post come out (are reposted). But the columns in general are somewhat out of date.
So it might be helpful to keep your filters a little broader:
- maybe add unknown to your credit inquiry filter
- or keep in expired posts
and then look at the latest bonus post the "DoC Link" column to see if the bonus has been extended (without being reposted), or someone has reported a soft pull (no hard pull) without the spreadsheet being updated.
I am not very active on excel/google sheets...
Can someone please guide me on how to filter multiple things at once.
For example, I want to see ONLY non-expired, ONLY a certain state (e.g. FL), ONLY soft pull. I want to see that information in order of bonus size largest to smallest.
Is there a way I can view that?
Thanks a lot!
Sure, I think you should be able to do this.
When you open the spreadsheet, go to Data -> Filter Views -> Create New Temporary Filter View
Now you'll see filter icons on all of the columns, so you can start filtering down results one column at a time.
For the "FL" column, I removed "Blanks" (leaving "Y" and "Y*")
For the "Credit Inquiry" column, I deselected everything except "Soft"
For the "Expiration" column, I cleared all values, then selected back "Blanks" and dates greater than today's date
For the "BB$" column, I clicked sort Z -> A
Thank you sir! Very helpful!
And thanks for your other reply as well.
do you have a similar compilation/spreadsheet for business account bonus
For the main tab - the preference is giving to personal checking bonuses.
But if you look at the Bonus History tab all recent DoC business bonuses should be included - you can filter by the "Type" column.
The history tab doesn't include all the columns (maybe one day)
Is this a good place to provide a correction? The Great Southern Bank entry states that no CC funding is available, but if you go to their website you can open a money market and CC fund up to 5k. It is also listed as restricted to Montana but I entered a NC zip code and it didn't give me an error message (I haven't opened an account quite yet, will do so in a couple months.
Thanks for sharing the DP, I updated the Great Southern entry (it loses sync over time)
