- No foreign transaction fees
Our Verdict
The additional benefits of this card are somewhat lacking, you basically only get the 60 XP points upon approval and nothing else. It is interesting the card does earn 3x on all SkyTeam members. I think we will see a bigger bonus than 25,000 miles as well, traditionally that has been offered on the Alaska card but in recent times we’ve seen offers of 30,000 miles + $100 and 40,000 miles. My guess is that during the book process you might be able to get an extra $100 statement credit on this card to begin with.
It’s currently possible to transfer over miles from:
- Chase Ultimate Rewards
- American Express Membership Rewards
- Barclays Arrival Premier
- SPG Points
- Citi ThankYou Points
- Diners Club
They also have monthly sales on award flights. Personally I don’t think this card in it’s current form is worth considering. 25,000 miles and having to pay an annual fee simply isn’t worth it. If the bonus gets improved then that might change but for now it’s not worth it.

During the booking of a ticket in AirFrance.com, they offer 25K + 150$ statement.
Is there any DP that having activity on the card prevents your miles from expiring 24 months after your last flight on AF/KLM? thanks,
DoC, any word yet on whether this card extends the life of Flying Blue points?
In theory, it does – from AF website: 'you make a purchase with an eligible partner bank card at least once every 2 years'.
Dear Air France, world ceo’s are giving up on Saudis so is treasure secretary Mnuchin. I want to understand why Skyteam and their leaders Delta/KLM/AF has not thrown out Saudi Airline from Skyteam. Supporting murders?
was hoping for a better SUB
@will at some point i'm gonna start a worst credit card offers of the month based on DoC's refreshingly blunt honesty that has kept me away from stinkers.
=), go for it
Diners Club hasn't had Air France/KLM as a transfer partner since 2007, so might be good to remove them from the transfer partners list.
That offer sucks.
How hard is it to get approved with bofa? I got 8 new cards last year, my credit score is around 730
It's a bit of a crap shoot. Until this year, I was approved every time, but have been declined twice on personal cards in the last 9 months with less new cards than you. Reasons were too many new accounts and lacking a banking relationship besides credit cards. I was approved early this year for an Alaska business card, though. My score is high 700's.
My experience has also been a bit of a crapshoot – not sure how to characterize them. I have been approved or denied by them at various times and it has been hard to see what the difference has been. I have had at least one card with them for a long time, and had a long time checking account with them (until they instituted a new monthly see system), but I am unclear on what really matters with them.
BOA is extremely money sensitive. I applied a card and got denied. I called in to recon but nothing happened. Then I moved 10k into my BOA checking and called in to recon, finallyI got approved.
There is apparently also an 5k miles annual bonus, offsetting the annual fee a bit.
In the T&C there they also say that having the card gets you 20 XP, spending $15k gives an additional 40 XP; that's the same as the approval 60 XP. (As a remainder, one needs 100 XP for the lowest Silver status, 180 XP for Gold)
I'd be interested if having this card extends that clusterfck validity of Flying Blue miles. (It seeming does if you have a CC in other countries.)
" ‘Overall Extending Activity’ is defined as an Activity (..) such as (..) payment with the co-branded credit cards listed in the Flying Blue Communication."
I have not found this communication..
Thanks, missed that. Added it in
