Our Verdict
This is in addition to points you normally earn on the card. In the past Amtrak has offered 5x points.

Got an email that my Amtrak card is being acquired by FNBO, with a conversion date of 10/23
I guess this means the card itself is probably sticking around until at least the end of the year (referring to speculation that BoA will be discontinuing the card since it's not available for new applications).

I would take it out of the sock drawer for this
There are the same targeted offer on other cards as well e.g. travel awards, Alaska, 123
...and DoC even wrote an entire post on that....
I got 2x on VS card.
