The Offer
Check your Bank of America deals for the following offer:
- Earn $5 Cash Back when you enroll and make an in-app purchase of $5 or more.
Here’s how to do this deal:
- Look for and click on the Starbucks tile towards the bottom of your “All Deals” page.
- In the offer details, click the Enroll Now link and sign in to your Starbucks Rewards Account to complete your enrollment.
- Make an in-app purchase or in-app reload of $5 or more with your linked Bank of America Debit or Credit card.
Our Verdict
Easy $5 for those targeted. Note, the Starbucks app has a $10 minimum reload amount.

$5 is $5 but where I am at, it’s not even enough for a drink anymore (cost approaching $7).
Starbucks has been recently doing some promos where you can get a handcrafted drink for $3 on certain days (check your email if you're subscribed to their promos)
I had activated the earlier $5 off 5$ offer, but hadn’t used it. I now have the same offer with the new expiration date continuing to be activated without taking additional steps.
I only got $2 off $5. I did the $10 load anyway since I know I will use it eventually but still annoying.

Reloaded $10 onto my giftcard in the app 9/13 (coded as "STARBUCKS 800-782-7282 800-782-7282 WA"), received $5.20 "BANKAMERIDEALS CASHBACK" on 9/20. I even added money and then enrolled through BoA to link my accounts afterwards (still same day) - I had a hard time finding the link and found the link through another offer offering 2% cashback.

Check your checking account, for some reason they deposited $5 to my checking account.
I do not have a checking account with them. Just a single credit card.
Has anyone done a gift card purchase and gotten the offer to trigger?
Didn't trigger for me. Merchant shows "STARBUCKS GC"
Same here. I didn't notice it at first or maybe they changed the terms since I first read it. Offer explicitly excludes gift cards.
How long do BOA credits usually take to post?
So a gift card doesn't trigger the bonus but the reload is ok??
This appeared in 3/4 accounts that hadn’t linked to Starbucks yet. Hopefully it still works.
