The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Bank of America is offering a one-day rewards holiday on  November 7, 2024 whereby all personal and business cards from Bank of America will earn an extra 2% cash back / 2x rewards points. Limit of $2,500 in spend per card

Our Verdict

This can be an interesting offer with the following cards:

  1. The Travel Rewards, Premium Rewards, and Unlimited Cash Rewards cards earn 1.5% on all purchases. On November 7th you’ll get an extra 2% for 3.5% total everywhere.
    • This is especially interesting for top-tier Preferred Rewards relationship clients who always get 2.62% on all purchases with these cards and will get 4.62% everywhere on November 7th.
  2. Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards card always gets 3% on one category of your choice (or 5.25% for Preferred Rewards clients) and 2% on grocery/wholesale (3.5% for Preferred Rewards clients) on up to $2,500 in purchases. On November 7th it’ll be 2% on top of that. That’s a potential total of 7.25% on your chosen category for top-tier Preferred Rewards clients.
  3. Earn 3x miles per dollar everywhere on the Alaska Airlines card.
  4. Apply for a new Bank of America card now and you’ll hopefully have the card by November 7th when you can meet the minimum spend at increased earn rates.

Last year there was no cap, but this time there is a $2,500 cap in spend.

  • The 2x bonus miles from Alaska Air biz card did not post... only transaction is the 2500+ miles from the purchase... nothing about the 2x miles (should be 5000 miles).... should i keep waiting?

    • Seems like most people waiting for adjustments have already gotten it by now, so you should probably reach out to them.

  • I still don't see any manual adjustment for the $2000 payment I made to a hospital. Showing transaction date of 11/8, posted on 11/9. Ugh. Is BofA done automatically adjusting or should I give them some more time?

  • Adjust rewards posted but still missing $15. Bought $2500 costco gc and as expected got $75 pending that day. I was missing extra 2% ($50). On 11/21 BOA did manual adjustment of only $35. so I am not sure if rest of the $15 is coming later or just wasn't calculated.

  • Just had a 30-minute call with BofA. The conclusion is that's a known issue and being worked on. If I don't see the correction after 2 billing cycles, call back for manual correction.

  • I bought 3x$500 Costco eGC (in one order) on 11/7/24 and all of them were delivered later on 11/7/24. Strangely only one $500 charge showed transaction date as 11/7 and earned extra 2% more rewards day bonus. The other two $500 charges showed transaction date as 11/8 and did NOT earn extra 2% more rewards day bonus. Should I reach out to BOA now?

    • Called BOA on 11/23/24 and requested to submit a ticket for the manual review. Haven't heard anything back. But checked the account yesterday and surprisingly found that the $20 adjustment was issued on 12/2/24.

  • Mostly posted properly but one instore (grocery) posted with a date of the 8th. When I checked the rewards tab on the BofA site, though, it shows the purchase still getting the bonus cash.

    • Yes, underscoring that post date is not what matters absolutely. There's other factors going on for when people aren't receiving the 2%.

      • Like I've written several times, as long the "Transaction Date" shows as 11.7.24, you should be fine. The "Posting Date" is irrelevant.
